🇬🇧 THEY TOLD YOU A STORY. 🇬🇧
Colonisers. Slavers. Oppressors. And you were supposed to feel ashamed.
Not for what you done... But for WHO YOU ARE. 🇬
So we tested it. Britain wrote everything down, so we opened the books. 📖
Turns out fewer than 1 man in 10 could vote in the year Britain banned the slave trade. No woman could. Your ancestors could hang for stealing a sheep, get shipped across the world for petty theft, or go down a mine at 8 years old. In Manchester, the average age of death in a labouring family was 17.
They weren't running the slave trade. They were underneath it too.
Which is what makes what happened next worth knowing.
In 1772 an enslaved man named James Somerset walked free from an English court, because English law couldn't hold a slave.
In 1791, 300,000 families just stopped buying slave sugar. No march, no riot, just a decision made at 300,000 kitchen tables.
In 1792, 519 petitions carrying 390,000 names hit Parliament, most signed by people who couldn't vote themselves.
In 1807, Britain banned the trade.
Then the slave owners sent Britain a bill for the 800,000 people they still held. 💷 £20 million. About 40% of the entire government budget at the time.
The Treasury says it wasn't paid off until 2015. So if your family paid British tax before then, they helped buy 800,000 people their freedom.
From 1808 the Royal Navy spent 60 years hunting slave ships at sea: 1,600 stopped, 150,000 people freed, and 1,600 British sailors dead, mostly of disease, buried thousands of miles from home. ⚓
In 1816 they ended two centuries of Barbary corsairs enslaving Europeans.
In 1896 a war that lasted 38 minutes ended slavery in Zanzibar. 🇹🇿
Almost every country on Earth outlaws slavery today.
That fight was paid for largely at British expense, by British hands.🇬🇧
So why haven't you heard any of this?
Because within living memory, someone rewrote the story. You got taught the crime. Not the cure.
The powerful exploited the world. They exploited their own people first. It was those people who ended slavery. 🇬🇧
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
History got rewritten once, in living memory, by no one who was ever named or held to account.
We are ordinary people doing what ordinary people have always done. Opening the books. Refusing to look away.
This is how we fight back. Fact by fact. Story by story. Name by name.
We are the home of British heroes. There is a place for you in it.

Here’s the problem. The liberal political class wants us to treat atrocities like Belfast as single, random, isolated incidents. “Yes, it’s horrific, but don’t overreact,” they say. “Let the police do their job. Justice will be delivered. Let’s remain united,” and so on.
But the public can see that such incidents *aren’t* random or isolated. They are, in fact, all the consequence of massive state failure in the area of asylum and immigration. All roads lead back there.
That’s why people are angry.. They are sick of the platitudes that get trotted out after each fresh incident. They don’t want to hear them anymore. They know that the decisions of establishment politicians have brought us to this current pass, and they don’t trust those same politicians to fix things, especially when some of them refuse to even recognise that the public’s anger is justified.
There has been a huge vibe shift in recent years. Imagine - God forbid - there were another 7/7. Does anyone think the public response would be anything like as restrained as it was then? We are in really dangerous territory.
The public don’t want flowers and candles and “Don’t let them divide us.” They want someone who says, “I recognise that the state has failed abjectly. We have allowed far too many people to settle in the country without knowing who they truly are. It has disrupted your communities. Your anger is justified. And I will do everything in my power to put things right.”
Any politician unwilling to articulate that message, fully and sincerely, is effectively sanctioning more years of growing social disharmony and discord. Things cannot heal until those in power recognise the extent of the problem and what it will take to fix it. And, on both counts, most of them don’t.
That’s why the next few years are going to be very, very turbulent.
Britain had a moment of silence for George Floyd. Our politicians kneeled en masse to show their outrage at his killing. "I can't breathe" became a slogan.
George Floyd died on the other side of the world. He wasn't British.
Henry Nowak *was* British and his treatment by the police was shocking and negligent in the extreme. Yet there is no minute of silence. There is no coordinated public campaign. There is no kneeling at sporting events.
And we all know why.
During the summer of BLM, some people said "All Lives Matter". This was treated as the highest form of racism and anyone who said this was immediately cancelled. Why? Because the people in charge don't actually think all lives matter in the same way.
They have created a racial hierarchy of victimhood where a career criminal who died through mistreatment by police in a foreign country with 0 evidence of racism like George Floyd is automatically sanctified because of the colour of his skin.
And Henry Nowak, a British man, one of ours, is automatically dismissed and ignored because of the colour of his.
This is the ugly fruit of so-called "anti-racism", an obsession with race that has created a two-tier society which treats people differently because of the colour of their skin.
This needs to stop.
I do not dispute the Southampton ruling. Bang to rights.
However increasingly today football is made aware of the Orwellian dictum.
"All teams are equal. But some are more equal than others."
If Hull lose Saturday, they need to go all guns blazing at the EFL.
Boro would have lost 2 legs, still made the final and gained £200m.
They have been in training and analysis preparing to face #SaintsFC, and now have to change everything at 72 hours notice.
Unjust.
@SBarrettBar@Iromg Decent men dont order their MPs to vote against rape gang inquiries or investigations into them. Decent men dont steamroll over the democratic will of the people. Decent men dont bar people with different views from entering the country. Decent men dont promote Mandleson.
Mark Ashton, Chairman of Ipswich Town FC, has just delivered a masterclass in institutional cowardice. Unreservedly apologising for the “hurt, pain and distress” caused by hosting an elected Member of Parliament, Nigel Farage? Not for some scandal, but for the unpardonable sin of allowing democracy to set foot in a football stadium.
This is not compassion. It is the snivelling capitulation of a man who mistakes the shrieking of a Twitter minority for moral authority.
One watches such a spectacle with horror: another British institution folding before the mob, reviewing its “policy on engaging with politicians” as though free association were now a hate crime.
Pathetic, spineless, and beneath contempt. Britain deserves leaders with spines, not this grovelling.
🚨Keir Starmer LOSES HIS TEMPER at the select committee hearing because he is *rightly* accused of "enormous complacency" for failing to defend Cyprus.
He's extremely thin-skinned and lacks the emotional maturity to be prime minister.
The man is not fit for office.
I recently asked Jewish students at a leading UK university if they saw a future for themselves here. Not one said yes. Today Hatzolah ambulances, whose sole purpose is to save life - ANY life - are burned in London. A country where Jews no longer feel they have a future is already in crisis.
The problem with Britain is that everything is upside down. We have the ludicrous Ed Davey pontificating about child safeguarding while leading a party that thinks men can be women if they feel horny in silk knickers.
We have the most extreme elements of the most aggressive minority screaming for the blood of Jews on weekly hate marches across the country, all while claiming to be the subject of an irrational prejudice.
Britain-haters scream that our flag is a symbol of racism and should be banned from public display, while the flag of ‘Palestine’ — a fantasy land synonymous with rape, mutilation, and general murderous mayhem — flies proudly in failing enclaves like Tower Hamlets.
And what of the Prime Minister? He insisted yesterday that the undeniably patriotic Robert Jenrick was sowing division. Honestly.
I could go on. Many young people, by way of a further example, would actually vote for the Islamo-trans clown alliance that is the Green Party. Why? Because their teachers — the grown-ups in the classroom — advocate for Zack’s crazy gang at every turn.
Pakistani rape gangs, Craig Guildford and West Midlands Police, authoritarianism and censorship. The list of shame is endless. Obsessive racists infest the institutions, and decent people are called far-right thugs. Hell of a thing.
It’s rubbish. Crap. Dangerous. Mad. We’re grinding to a halt. The trouble is, we’ll have to really hit rock bottom before we can drag ourselves out of the web of abuse (because that’s what it is). What a bloody tragedy.
I don’t understand how Jacob Ramsey has been booked for that he felt the ground and then just lay there. He didn’t even appeal for it. How has that been given a dive? #NEWMUN
Some say they are worried about future Islamist control of the UK.
Future? Look around!
Our government won't even say it supports the U.S. strikes on Iran out of fear of losing Muslim votes.
That is Islamist control of our nation's foreign policy. Right here. Right now.
What this by-election has shown is that the Greens are a Trojan Horse
For sectarianism
For antisemitism
For woke extremism
For legalising all drugs
For sexualising our children
For deflecting from Islamist terror
For open borders
Everybody can see it

Incredible news. Overnight the Chagossians have returned to their homeland on the Chagos Islands.
They are now British passport holders on British territory. I wish them well.
