thank you too my friends, coaches, and administration for a great 3 years. I’m proud to announce that I will be playing football at Curtis High school for the 2025-2026 season.
Today I wanted to share with you my road to recovery, 2 months ago I suffered a severe season ending knee injury. Tore my acl and ripped my meniscus off the bone. When I first got the news my dreams were crushed, asking God why did this have to happen to me. As the days went on approaching my surgery I was in shock not knowing what to think or expect. I got surgery on Tuesday October 22nd and the journey officially had started. The first two weeks I wasn’t able to move, putting me into a deep depression I’ve never felt before. One of the worst parts was laying on my couch not being able to move watching my brothers on the football field without me. As those two weeks passed I asked myself what am I doing sitting here sulking about the fact this happened. A lightbulb sparked and I wasn’t gonna let this ruin my life. Everyday I made sure to make myself better than the day before. I started to see significant improvements and now all I can think about is thanking God for putting me on this journey to show how strong I really am. You know what they say God gives his toughest battles to his strongest warriors and I will never give up or back down from anything put in front of me. 7 weeks after surgery I feel like I’m in the best mental shape I’ve been in my whole life, addicted to success. This process opened a door in me to push myself even harder than before. The fire inside is burning greater than ever before as the pain that I went through is gone but won’t be forgotten, which is why I’m so grateful for football. When you play football you let everything out inside you to fight for your brothers on that field which makes it different from any other sport. It’s a weird feeling. I'm only 7 weeks and still have a long and hard journey ahead out yet I feel like I've recovered because of my mental state. All I want to do is work hard and chase success. I feel that I’m addicted to winning and this is just another battle that I’m going to win. If you get anything from this in all of your toughest and hardest battles, never give up, hard work and perseverance will always get you through it. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🦾
