@londonwinefair @sws_wine What a striking image in a special place, with the backdrop of the snow capped Andes
Lovely image of a compelling estate with the backcloth of the snow capped Andes. Bravo M!
Very sad news that Franco Allegrini, the innovative master of great Valpolicella Classico has died aged 62. Jovial, witty, insightful, he will be sorely missed. Sincere condolences to his wife and his children who step up to consolidate Franco’s legacy.
@LemonZestful John Dory for dinner sounds mouthwatering; Jennifer. 25 mins in foil in the oven with ginger not hard to do. I always think Andrew left to his own devices is a very decent cook

I’ve got this dysfunctional Ready, steady Cook thing going on with my husband who buys what he fancies and I deal with it. John Dory tonight and I really can’t muster the love. I know, I could make him cook, but you know, #controlfreak tendencies.
@spskelton Champagne is not just a continental climate but so often an interplay with oceanic sequences. Kent has some fine producers, my favourIte Herbert Hall in Marden.
@PeterPharos @AdamLechmere @spskelton I’m with you, Peter. I hope that as an independent writer/ journalist on bubbles I am wary of marketing pitches, be they from Reims or Winchester. For once, it isn’t us scribblers who are to blame.
@spskelton No one should dismiss English Wine - still or sparkling- made over clay soils. But for the very finest champagnes, eg Cristal 2014 miraculous white chalk is paramount to its supremacy in the plots of the Cristal Estate (top sites). Black Chalk E Hampshire Wow! Hymn to chalk.
