In a touching moment on Thursday night, @elonmusk replied "Will answer shortly" to a viral post sharing the final questions of a teenage girl who had dreamed of meeting him. Within minutes, a memecoin bearing her creation's name pumped over 45,000%.

Liv Perrotto was a 15-year-old space enthusiast who battled pediatric cancer. Despite her illness, she designed the Asteroid Shiba plush that flew as the zero-gravity indicator on SpaceX's Polaris Dawn mission in 2024. Her design was inspired by Musk's own Shiba Inu, Floki. Proceeds from the official plush merchandise supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Liv passed away earlier this year.

Her mother recently shared a list of questions Liv had prepared for Musk, including whether he would make Asteroid the official SpaceX mascot. Glenn Beck highlighted the list on his show. Musk's two-word reply drew over 1.3M views and was widely shared as a heartfelt moment of recognition for Liv's story.

Eight minutes after the reply, an anonymous Ethereum wallet swapped 1 $ETH for $ASTEROID tokens. Within three hours, that position was worth approximately $474,320. Another wallet that had held the token for 580 days rode the pump to $392,000 in profit.

The token's market cap surged from under $100,000 to over $23M at peak. A parallel version launched on @solana. 24-hour trading volume topped $33M.
