.@TV5MONDE in the UK normally broadcasts a half-hour edit of the evening news of #France2 (Journal de #20h) at 7:30 pm UK time. On Wed24th the news ended abruptly after 10 mins without explanation. From Thu it was replaced by the equivalent Belgian news. Still no explanation

Today the centenarian Fabra Observatory (located on a hill above the city) recorded 40.0C its HOTTEST DAY IN HISTORY (data since 1914).

Construction is underway on 40 affordable homes off Butts Lane, New Marston. Long-established Oxford firm Lucy Developments and @OxfordCity’s housing arm OX Place are building 26 houses and 14 flats. Completion is expected in November.
Oxford–Banbury–Birmingham train services are being cut again. Train operator CrossCountry is withdrawing 8 services each day on the Reading–Newcastle route via Oxford. The cuts will reduce the service to broadly hourly, with no trains in the evening peak between 16.40 and 18.12.
A Dutch court ruled that KLM adverts mislead the public about how sustainable flying is. Now 17 airlines have received legal warnings not to make claims on SAF and offsetting.
