Congrats Tyler Adams and Naz Tumpa on this most recent TTz publication! Selected as an Editor's Choice paper by ACS, it shows off the amazing properties/applications of these highly functional organic materials. https://t.co/WCqvOEpBVc
The 2023 #NobelPrize in Chemistry rewards the discovery and development of quantum dots, nanoparticles so tiny that their size determines their properties.
These particles have unique properties and now spread their light from television screens and LED lamps. They catalyse chemical reactions and their clear light can illuminate tumour tissue for a surgeon.
Researchers have primarily utilised quantum dots to create coloured light. They believe that in the future quantum dots can contribute to flexible electronics, miniscule sensors, slimmer solar cells and perhaps encrypted quantum communication.
BREAKING NEWS
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2023 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.”
Very proud of all students who’ve worked on our latest publication in Advanced Science. We used thiazolothiazole fluorophores in polymers to create highly efficient, fluorescent sensors for detecting and distinguishing VOCs. Congratulations team! https://t.co/P9IeKdpHV8
BIG NEWS: An NREL research breakthrough has led to a solar cell with a record efficiency of 39.5% under 1-sun global illumination. This is the highest efficiency solar cell of any type, measured using standard 1-sun conditions. Learn more at https://t.co/Q1LDrQ5V5m
