@admcrlsn Charlie Crist did not win the primary. Candidates in that race need to get to 50.01% to win. He and incumbent Ken Welch will go to a run-off in November now.

@Adam_cocker1986 @JoePompliano An affiliate station doesn't necessarily mean NBC owns them (most are not NBC owned). Stations pay millions for branding/content. All Olympic coverage NBC airs is shown, but during local station broadcasts what can be shown is very limited despite the affiliation

Property taxes are a stable and reliable revenue base vs sales, tourism, etc which are subject to the whims of consumer spending. Cuts to service will happen bcs Gov’ts can’t plan accurately

@zach_goodall Law enforcement also gets rather prickly when you don’t wait for them to provide the “official” version of events, and it will legitimately negatively impact an outlets relation with law enforcement (not just a Gainesville issue)
