Our protagonist, Michael Kraun, puts a lot of pressure on himself.
He badly wants to succeed, and when he doesn’t - or even when things simply are harder than he expects them to be - he feels like he’s losing.
Do you feel like a failure when you don’t win?
So many decisions yet so little time.
A year is an instant.
A decade is a long sigh.
Let’s take a lesson from our protagonist: be sure to fly while you’ve still got your wings.
Do it now, my dear friend.
Life is but a dream.
Our protagonist has been trying to do it all: rise up the corporate ladder to protect his future, and at the same time work on actualizing his childhood dream of becoming a rapper.
Today marks what is hopefully a turning point in his journey: his first song in over 3 years.
It’s been a minute since you’ve last seen our protagonist, hasn’t it?
How long has it been?
I think about 1,214 days, 173 weeks, and 3 years to be exact.
Time flies, huh?
It all starts this week: a new chapter to the story begins.
I checked in with LaRussell, Armani White, Amari Noelle, Michael Kraun and 2 other artists to ask the same question:
"How should artists think about creating, building, and nurturing connections with their fans in 2023, either digitally or IRL?"
Here's their answers:
Every artist is different.
Every genre is different.
Every rollout is different.
No singular strategy works for everyone.
Thank you @DJBooth & @BrianZisook for the opportunity to expand on a thread I made recently.

We made a promise to ourselves at the end of last year that 2022 would be about consistency & compounding.
Two months & 6 songs in. Proud of our consistency @michaelkraun!
Music streams compound over time,
Catalogs compound over time,
Music video views compound over time,
Hard work compounds over time,
Performance experience compounds over time.
Be patient.
