@Lhizper @joboaler I was being more general than specific. Take questioning strategies. Seeing a dialogue play out can be a helpful start.

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@mowles80 @joboaler @RCSDK8 Chapter 3 is my favorite. Redefining for many what math is verses how it's often taught.

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@joboaler Only insulting to folks who already are proficient with this approach. Modeling has merits as a starting point.

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@Lhizper @joboaler I think that when you are learning a new craft mimicry has value. People new to this approach need a starting point.

Amazing article - thank you @alicekeeler. You have said what so many feel. This needs to be read by everyone.

@MichaelNordlin @RCSDK8 Shout out to our third grade teachers! Taking understanding of these relationships to another level. Rock unit 2!

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@RCSDK8 In order to foster growth mindsets in math for our children we first must foster our own growth mindsets.

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@RCSDK8 great work today 4th grade teachers! Way to embrace the new division standards! Our kids are lucky to have you!

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@RCSDK8 Math before: rules were the idea... Math now: ideas rule!

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@sallyhoyt @wjusoe So what were some of your takeaways?

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@AncntPhilosophy not sure there is a separation between mind and body...

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

@RaineyTeacher3 Your students are lucky to have you. You are that reason for many.

[Michael Nordlin @MichaelNordlin]

It's simply thrilling to see what's happening for our kids in RCSD with math. Kids are being empowered to think. Understanding is our focus.
