@BurroughsClass#BTtopics Allthough this is unrelated to what's happening in chapter 14, the anxiety off being caught by border police can be very, very nerve racking. Especially with Taylor and the others since there are multiple if them in just one car.
@BurroughsClass#BTcharacter It's weird for the way that the story tells about how Turtle talks and how she apparently bury dolls with some people believe it to be a fixation with death. This adds much more mystery to Turtle and her background.
@BurroughsClass#BTtopics Phew, thank goodness Turtle is fine, though I do suppose that they author wouldn't kill any main/important characters in the story.
@BurroughsClass#BTquotes "Only two things are worth making so much noise about: death and sex." Such a weird thing to by Estevan, wonder why he says this.
@BurroughsClass#BTtopics It's great that even in the time of darkness and worrying (with Estevan and Esperanza having to run away before getting caught) the characters are still able to be happy and have fun during these events.
@BurroughsClass#BTtopics It's kind of odd that Tucson, Arizona has been getting rainy and stormy weather throughout the story. I've been to Tucson, Arizona and while it does rain there a bit, not as much as it does in the story.
@BurroughsClass#BTtopics Now Estevan and Esperanza have to leave and run away now! Hopefully we hear from then sooner than later after they leave Tucson then.
@BurroughsClass#BTtopics I'm mad that Angel has now returned in the story for wanting Lou Ann back to live with him in Montana. Angel's just the person used in the story to make Lou Ann lose her just now formed family and live in a trash house. Can't believe he's that desperate.
@BurroughsClass#BTquotes I'm wondering what Estevan meant by having a baby you have to "give it to the light." That seems very odd and I'm wondering what it is suppose to represent and mean.
@BurroughsClass#BTcharacter Since Lou Ann has gotten her new job, she's becoming more open and enthusiastic rather than being her old self. Lou Ann was fearful and scared of everything around, now that has changed and really has become the opposite.
@BurroughsClass#BTtopics At least Lou Ann got a job that she likes and not one that she would regret having. This opens up many opportunities that she can benefit from by having a job as well.
@BurroughsClass#BTcharacter Is Edna a new character that has been introduced to the story or have she been mentioned before in the story because I don't remember her at all throughout he other chapters. Somebody please clarify me on this please.
@BurroughsClass#BTcharacter I'm glad that Turtle is starting to talk a bit more (even if it's only one word or so). But it shows that Taylor is doing a great job of being a parent. Also I seem to notice that Turtle has stuck to very few words, mostly the words "bean: and "tree."
@BurroughsClass#BTtopics It seems that the Ruiz cousins that Lou Ann visitsd are nothing like Angel personality. In fact they seem to be Angel's opposite at this point in the story. This makes me wonder if Angel was different than the rest and made him feel isolated from others.
@BurroughsClass#BTquotes "Gradually Lou Ann and I were changing the house around, filling in the empty spaces left behind by Angel with..." I like as it's now showing the bond and healing that Taylor has brought to Lou Ann by living with her. They're starting to become family.
@BurroughsClass#BTcharacter Thank goodness Esperanza is okay and isn't dead. But then again, I didn't really think they would kill a secondary character off that fast already.
@BurroughsClass#BTtopics Jesus, already chapter 9 is giving us some big suspense. Estevan's and Esperanza's family are killed during a raid in Guatemala. This is basically where the climax part of the story happens.
