One message, many voices.
Residents, business leaders, young professionals, and community advocates showed up in force to speak up for the future of downtown Dallas. The support is broad, the momentum is real, and the call is clear: invest boldly in the heart of our city.

Tons of thoughts on yesterday’s vote. Glad we’re moving in the right direction.
But the sudden concern for environmental impacts and black & brown communities from some on council? Performative. They used these communities as pawns to delay a vote.
@AdamBazaldua voted to tear down the ENTIRE convention center. $4B, no environmental briefing demanded and personally made the motion to cut off debate and force the vote. Now a City Hall vote feels “rushed”? Now demolition needs an impact study?
@caraathome pushed tax caps that would structurally defund services & infrastructure in southern Dallas. Her own colleagues rejected it 13-2, calling it irresponsible for communities south of I-30. Equity wasn’t the concern then.
@ridleyfordallas fought to keep multifamily housing out of single-family zoning during ForwardDallas restrictions that hit minority communities hardest in a city tens of thousands of affordable units short.
Equity wasn’t the concern then either.
And when TXDOT came in unannounced and started tearing down bridges over I-30 for the canyon project, literally cutting off south Dallas communities from downtown, where was the outrage? The lawsuits? The demands for briefings? Silence.
Black and brown communities in @CityOfDallas deserve real, consistent advocacy. Not being invoked as a delay tactic only when the politics are convenient.
Yesterday’s vote was the right call. Let’s build something downtown that actually serves ALL of #Dallas
I know I posted a sunrise picture this morning, but this sunset is too much to not post.
Today was another hit for the @CityOfDallas and our downtown communities, but this is not the end. Just a delay.
We will continue to fight for Downtown, South Dallas, the Cedars, and all #Dallas communities. They will always be worth more than a building. #SayYesToDowntown
Valley View feels like a distraction bunt. No transit, nightmare traffic, has sat vacant FOREVER. It's time to demolish failing @CityOfDallas City Hall, let go of the JFK ghosts and insecurity here, snag a downtown office tower for pennies (with a transit station like at Bryan Tower), and keep the Mavs where they belong, directly under the Dallas skyline. Don’t let them squeeze play us. Read this: https://t.co/q3fs1pUC5Z
Perfectly said. The city hall debate isn’t about the building it’s about allowing the continuation of the below. CH is surrounded by parking lots and vacant fields. Letting the Mavs and Stars relocate out of the urban core will just accelerate this. #dallas@CityOfDallas
Another great newsletter from @sgoldstein who highlights some of the data in the Zencity survey on city hall. A much more accurate and data driven representation of where residents land on the debate. 41% wanting to relocate it to 32% wanting to keep it where it is. #dallas
Let’s simplify this whole City Hall issue before the "torch and pitchfork" 🔥 crowd in their blue T-shirts bombards City Hall on Wednesday.
The duty of a @CityOfDallas official on this subject is to seek the "highest and best use" for the property.
Based on the 2026 assessments and financial modeling, here is the ranked order of these options from the highest to the lowest financial benefit for the city:
1. Option 1: Lease the Site as an "Anchor" (Arena/Mixed-Use District)
This is viewed as the most advantageous path because it leverages municipal economic development "cheat codes"like the Brimer Bill and Project Financing Zone (PFZ).
-Tax Capture: It allows the city to capture state hotel, sales, and mixed-beverage taxes that would otherwise leave Dallas, using them to fund a world-class district without touching the General Fund.
-Catalyst Effect: Proponents project this could anchor a $10 billion economic engine that stabilizes the Central Business District and "re-stitches" downtown to the Cedars.
2. Option 2: Sell the Property (Return to Tax Rolls)
Selling the 15-acre site is the second-best financial move as it provides an immediate cash influx and addresses the city’s largest opportunity cost.
-Revenue Generation: Transitioning the site to the private sector places it permanently on the property tax rolls for the first time.
-Liability Removal: It immediately removes a $1.1 billion to $1.4 billion 20-year liability from the city's balance sheet .
3. Option 3: Refurbish Current City Hall
This is widely identified as the least fiscally responsible path.
-The Debt Trap: It requires a minimum $329.4 million in hard repairs just to restore reliability, plus $113 million to $185 million to relocate staff during a five-year renovation.
-Zero ROI: By the time you add bond interest, you’ve spent a billion dollars on a building that generates $0 in tax revenue while diverting bond capacity away from police, parks, and southern Dallas infrastructure.
So in other words, if these "Save City Hall" folks really want to benefit the city, they better start working on their plan to bring the MILLIONS of I.M. Pei enthusiasts from around the globe to visit the building & find a way to generate revenue from the tourist they believe will come just look at it.
🚨AOC’S FIANCE JUST GOT BUSTED BY THE SEC FOR INSIDER TRADING — AND THE CORRUPT SOCIALIST QUEEN IS DUMPING HIS ASS TO SAVE HER OWN SKIN!

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced the “difficult decision” to part ways with her long-time fiancé Fareed Marchand after the SEC dropped the hammer: he was using stolen or “seduced” insider information from his girlfriend to rake in massive profits.
SEC Lead Investigator Joseph Barron didn’t mince words: “Fareed Marchand used information he either stole or seduced away from his girlfriend. The other option is that she was in on it.”
While the investigator believes the breakup is pure theater and AOC was likely neck-deep in the scheme, he admits they need the FBI to prove it.
Of course she’s “parting ways” now — the same woman who screams about “the rich” getting away with everything just watched her own man get caught red-handed using her congressional connections for dirty trades.
The entire socialist grift is collapsing. AOC can’t even keep her own house clean.

Dallas City Council first votes NO then YES to approve $90 MILLION contract for vendor with SERIOUS quality work product issues. No questions from most of council. Lori Blair, once again, looks highly unqualified for the job!
I question preservationists swearing the 1978 Brutalist bunker is worth dying on a hill for. The mechanical guts & asbestos are literally entombed in the concrete.
I get the architectural significance, but that's nothing that can be well documented and put into textbooks or even online 3-D VR goggle tours.
But the building looks like a water reclamation plant.
Upgrading to modern needs,… modern electrical needs including EV chargers, strict environmental standards, and updates needed for the next 50 years are a logistical nightmare. Not to mention, the functionally obsolete dead zone slicing up downtown pedestrian flow for architectural ego. More brutal than the architecture is trying to walk up to it in June or August in 110° heat (the public can't park underneath in the leaky, unplanned water cooled, shade BTW.)
$1.1B in 20-year liabilities while we forfeit a possible $10B entertainment district engine off Brimer Bill rebates? And the 2026 report’s asbestos apocalypse demands a full 5-year evacuation anyway.
Clinging to this tax-exempt museum (that doesn't even generate the revenue of a museum) ain’t stewardship, Dallas… it’s hoarding a concrete coffin. Release the past. Build the future that actually lives in @CityOfDallas .
Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to secretly retrieve US made Stinger Missiles that the State Dept had supplied to Ansar al Sharia in Libya WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission.
Sec State Hillary Clinton had brokered the Libya deal through Ambassador Stevens and a Private Arms Dealer named Marc Turi, but some of the shoulder fired Stinger Missiles ended up in Afghanistan where they were used against our own military. On July 25th, 2012, a US Chinook helicopter was downed by one of them. Not destroyed only because the idiot Taliban didn't arm the missile. The helicopter didn't explode, but it had to land and an ordnance team recovered the missile’s serial number which led back to a cache of Stinger Missiles kept in
Qatar by the CIA.
Obama and Hillary were in full panic mode, so Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to retrieve the rest of the Stinger Missiles. This was a "do-or-die" mission, which explains the Stand Down Orders given to multiple rescue teams during the siege of the US Embassy.
It was the State Dept, NOT the CIA, that supplied the Stinger Missiles to our sworn enemies because Gen. Petraeus at CIA would not approve supplying the deadly missiles due to their potential use against commercial aircraft. So then, Obama threw Gen. Petraeus under the bus when he refused to testify in support of Obama’s phony claim of a “spontaneous uprising caused by a YouTube video that insulted Muslims.”
Obama and Hillary committed TREASON!
THIS is what the investigation is all about, WHY she had a Private Server, (in order to delete the digital evidence), and WHY Obama, two weeks after the attack, told the UN that the attack was the result of the YouTube video, even though everyone KNEW it was not.
Furthermore, the Taliban knew that the administration had aided and abetted the enemy WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission, so they began pressuring (blackmailing) the Obama Administration to release five Taliban generals being held at Guantanamo.
Bowe Bergdahl was just a useful pawn used to cover the release of the Taliban generals. Everyone knew Bergdahl was a traitor but Obama used Bergdahl’s exchange for the five Taliban generals to cover that Obama was being coerced by the Taliban about the unauthorized Stinger Missile deal.
So we have a traitor as POTUS that is not only corrupt, but compromised, as well and a Sec of State that is a serial liar, who perjured herself multiple times at the Congressional Hearings on Benghazi. Perhaps this is why no military aircraft were called upon for help in Benghazi: because the administration knew that our enemies had Stinger Missiles that, if used to down those planes, would likely be traced back to the CIA cache in Qatar and then to the State Dept’s illegitimate arms deal in Libya.
JUST IN: The Tongva tribe — whose ancestral land Billie Eilish's multi-million-dollar Los Angeles mansion sits on — confirmed she has not contacted them about returning the “stolen land.”
A spokesperson for the Tongva tribe told The Daily Mail: “‘As the First People of the greater Los Angeles basin, we do understand that her home is situated in our ancestral land,’ they stated, adding that the A-lister has not reached out to the tribe herself.”
“‘Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property, we do value the instance when Public Figures provide visibility to the true history of this country,’ the spokesperson continued.”
