This is a new book I highly recommend. I have a piece in it on poetry for incarcerated men and women. Please order this--especially if you are a writing instructor in a prison, jail, or juvenile lockup: https://t.co/trmZMzYVR6
Pretty sad how much people have been conditioned to believe that not getting crushed by costs of healthcare, housing, education, and low wages is either “radical left politics” or “nice but unrealistic”
It's not enough to just send Donald Trump packing, or even just to repair the damage he’s done.
We’ve got to unrig and rebuild the systems that made his rise possible to begin with, and that allowed his administration to hurt so many people in so many ways.
I worry about Democrats no matter what happens.
If Trump wins, I worry some Democrats will blame the victims of voter suppression rather than voter suppression.
If Biden wins, I worry some Democrats will act like the nation is post-racial as so many did in 2008. #Election2020
It is never enough to remember our past evils. We learn from Howard Zinn that there is always a second narrative. A narrative of powerful people rising up with moral dissent and moral resistance.
Thank you, Howard Zinn.
