@Lexluth32268310@CrewsMat10 Your reposting pictures of me and calling my face dumb. But you want me to focus on something else? You made it personal. I’m not hiding, you are.
🚨 Mike Dean on Croatia's disallowed late goal against Portugal:
🗣️ “The biggest issue for me isn't necessarily the outcome,it's the process. If VAR needs several minutes to reach a decision, you have to question whether it's dealing with a clear and obvious error or re-refereeing the incident.
Nobody wants officials becoming the headline after a World Cup knockout match. The focus should be on the football, not lengthy reviews that leave players and supporters frustrated.
I really feel for Croatia because they experienced the emotion of believing they'd kept themselves in the tournament, only for that moment to be taken away. That's incredibly difficult for players to accept.
VAR is there to help referees, but it has to improve the flow of the game. When everyone is talking about the officials after the final whistle, something hasn't gone right.”
🚨 Mark Clattenburg on Croatia's disallowed goal against Portugal:
🗣️ “I've watched the incident several times, and I genuinely struggle to understand how that goal was disallowed.
The key question is whether Renato Veiga deliberately played the ball. From the angles available, it appears he makes a clear, intentional touch, and if that's the case, Mario Pašalić is no longer gaining an advantage from an offside position. Under the Laws of the Game, that should reset the phase of play.
This is exactly why VAR exists—to identify and correct clear errors in decisive moments. If the officials concluded there was no deliberate play, then they need to explain the reasoning because, from what we've seen, the evidence points in the opposite direction.
We've already seen controversial officiating decisions during this World Cup, and consistency has become a major concern. Players, coaches, and supporters deserve to know that the same interpretation of the law will be applied in every match.
When a decision of this magnitude determines who progresses and who goes home, there has to be complete clarity. FIFA and the refereeing committee should review this incident thoroughly to ensure the correct interpretation of the law was applied.”
I might’ve missed it, but when the ref went to the screen, did the snickometer show one spike or two? Because if it touched both players it should’ve shown two.
“VAR is for clear and obvious decisions only”
Also, there’s sensors communicating with satellites calculating millimeters of an inch of a strand of hair touching the ball to end the career of one of the best players of his generation.
Thanks for tuning in.
🚨Thierry Henry blasts the referee and VAR after Croatia's last-minute goal against Portugal was ruled out:
🗣️ “I don't understand that decision at all. For me, the referee and VAR have completely ruined what should have been one of the greatest moments of this World Cup.
You cannot overturn a goal of that magnitude unless the evidence is absolutely clear. I've watched the replay several times, and I still don't see enough to confidently rule it out. If it's taking that long to draw lines and freeze frames, then it isn't obvious.
The referee has allowed technology to become the star of the match. Fans didn't come to watch VAR—they came to watch football. Croatia thought they had earned a dramatic equaliser through courage and determination, only for it to be taken away by a decision that will divide opinions for years.
This is exactly why people are losing faith in VAR. Instead of correcting obvious mistakes, it's making microscopic decisions that nobody in the stadium can understand. That's not what football is supposed to be.
I feel for the Croatian players because moments like this stay with you forever. You celebrate, you believe you've kept your World Cup dream alive, and then it's all erased in seconds. For me, the referee and VAR have got this completely wrong.”
This all sounds so unbelievable complicated that I am now 90% convinced that the pressure chip wasnt synced up correctly and VAR just stole a equalizer from Croatia
Zlatan Ibrahimović blasts the referee and VAR after Croatia's last-minute goal against Portugal was ruled out:
🗣️ “That is daylight robbery. Absolute daylight robbery. Don't tell me football is better because of decisions like that. The referee and VAR have stolen the biggest moment of Croatia's World Cup.
If you need five minutes, endless replays, slow motion and lines drawn across a screen to find an offside, then it isn't a clear mistake. The referee has hidden behind VAR instead of having the courage to make a football decision.
Croatia earned that goal with heart, courage and belief. They celebrated, millions celebrated with them, and then a group of officials sitting in a room erased all of that. That's not justice that's killing the emotion of football.
This is the FIFA World Cup, not a science experiment. Fans don't travel across the world to watch officials freeze frames and measure millimetres. They come to witness unforgettable moments, and tonight one of those moments was stolen.
I don't blame Portugal I blame the referee and VAR. Croatia deserved to have that goal stand, and instead they're going home wondering how football's biggest tournament ended with the officials becoming the main characters. For me, that's one of the worst VAR decisions you'll ever see.”
When I was a player, most preseason testing we did confirmed I had 20/20 vision. Need to book an appointment to see an optometrist ASAP because I know the technology is telling me the Croatia player touched the ball, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t see it.
