Trying to understand why the fitness industry glorifies a body ideal that requires unhealthy habits and disordered eating behaviours to achieve, whilst also increasing your risk of mental health issues like body dysmorphia and eating disorders.
It’s 2023 so I’m not sure why this all still needs to be said…
but can we please stop telling people that small frequent meals “boosts your metabolism”, that organic food is always healthier and that coffee alone counts as a meal.
Thanks in advance.

Prioritise your own well-being and never feel guilty for putting yourself first.
By all means push your body and embrace seeing what it is capable of. But please remember that it is absolutely fine to bail on a workout if you’re not feeling up to it.
Both of these are perfectly healthy approaches to exercise.

Fuck that.
Here’s to eating food that brings us joy and moving our bodies in a way that we enjoy!
