At doctors to sign Medical Cert, without which can't run marathon. But also have bad knee problem that needs medical attention. Catch 22.

Not good. In lots of pain after 30km run yesterday. It's my knees. Off to see Physio (again). Bob in pain as well - but he complains less.

Yesterday back to 25km. Fastest av pace todate: 5.14/km. But still worried about how on earth I am supposed to cover the last 10km in Paris.

Last week was our first 20 miles (32 km) run. I hit 'The Wall' at 29km. My knees. Eyes watering to the finish. Bob cruised it.

Back to more modest 24km this morning. Wind and rain...and much shirt tugging (on my side I'm afraid).

Six weeks to go. 18 miles/29km this morning, incl a 2km ascent. 2 hours 35 mins. Pace 5.19/km. Bob and I both shattered. #marathontraining

Nice to have Hugo (11) with me for the first 9km yesturday. No Bob to battle with (in India) so then plodded on to 21km alone. Av 5.13/km.

Oslo fiord run last night. No problems. Averaged 4.29/km. Bob is stuck in India, so no one to hold me back on tomorrows long run.

Ok, went to see Amanda the Physio. Says I'm imagining the Shin Splints. "Get a grip man", says she. £45 well spent in my opinion.

Bob did 29km without me today. I did 3km! But good news is no Shin Splint pain. Watch out Bob - this thing is not be over yet.

Think I might have 'shin splints'. Had to stop the training. Bob advises 12 weeks rest (but then he would say that, wouldn't he).

We train to learn. My learning this week is not to eat a curry and drink beer, then six hours later try to run 26km over 2hr 20mins.

Just done 8 miles as per Training Plan.Dead chuffed.Gloated to Bob, knowing he's a run behind. He says I misread the Plan. It was 5 miles!
