Trade deficits are fully understood by most everyone. That’s a silly statement to say they aren’t understood by POTUS.
Fact is, we shouldn’t have trade deficits. Especially with countries that are wealthy.

It means the countries negotiate and make equal trade, or we do what is needed to make it equal ourselves.
We are not an isolated nation, and neither are any other countries, yet tariffs are ok ?
