I’ve been ill and in pain with pleurisy all week, but today I made these nålbinding handwarmers. This was my first attempt at embroidery. It was described as a ”simple red work design” and a herringbone border to highlight the wavy edges. Korgen stitch in alafosslopi wool.
Yesterday’s weaving workshop, at Hands on Heritage. We talked about where the children’s clothes and materials come from, and how clothes might have been made in the past. We looked at fleece, shears, spindles and plant dyed wools. Then the children wove their own bracelets.
