I just want to see a new sunset, glimpse a new shooting star, hear a new rhythmic wave lapping up on a shore somewhere or a new pitch of trickle from a creek. I could listen to an army of crickets and find joy in it or find significance in a visit from a dragonfly. This is life.

That’s why two people can have different memories of the same event. It wasn’t the event. It was the feelings they experienced.
I am completely and totally fascinated by human stories — why people do what they do, how their experiences shape their perspectives, their reality and their sense of normal. It affects everything a person can imagine for themselves and therefore their actions every day.

I took some flack from our athletes’ parents for paring back training in the 10 days leading up to a world championship event.
Then I read about an athlete from our other location who broke her leg in 2 places just one week out and I know it was the right decision.
What if the message was just as curated, manipulated and distributed strategically then — through printing press, radio and television, and classroom textbooks, as it is now?

Things I love: ocean waves, long slow kisses, happy tears, puppies and kittens, cheering for others’ success, sea turtles, a clean kitchen, lucid dreaming, accidentally snorting from laughing too hard.
What I’ve learned about successful entrepreneurs is that the size of their success usually hinges on their ability to tolerate financial risk— to be able to operate with hundreds of thousands or millions on the line with personal guarantees. They are all-in and still believe.
@jackunheard Except for a couple of years I travelled abroad I’ve had an extensive home gym for the last 15 years. Get out of bed, drink coffee, work out, clean up, all the other stuff. It also helps to find a sport/community you can love. I have trained with mine in the evenings too.
