Ever wonder where ptarmigan go during their breeding and wintering seasons? What about what's driving their movement? What habitat they like? How about the social-cultural significance of ptarmigan for Inuit? The importance of ptarmigan in food security? #ASMTweetYourThesis
Science Twitter: anybody know what this guy is? He was found in mud on the anchor in Nachvak Fjord. Looking to start a specimen collection and need some IDing help :)
This picture is of Dorothy Cove (my great grandmother) and Irene Burden (my great aunt). The song Tishialuk Girls was written about Dorothy and her sisters because they were so beautiful and want to wed them so badly but they have to wait until Sam Cove (her father) is gone.
I did all of the right things and isolated as soon as I developed symptoms but it’s so overwhelming to get confirmation that you’re positive for covid :( please keep the people in mind before blaming and shaming for getting covid 😓
Things that’ll make your life easier for winter research programs:
-Waterproof gloves
-Extra warm socks
-Buckets. Lots of buckets.
-The love of your life ♥️
Today we celebrate the life of Hooker (Kenneth) Best. This picture was taken almost a year ago to the day - my Poppa was showing me how to lash a Kamutik that he built. A man known and loved by many and will be remembered by all as a true son of Labrador. I’ll love him forever ♥️
It’s so comforting to hear people talk about your loved ones who’ve passed on. My mom worked for NG for 13 years and people still talk about her almost everyday to me ♥️
