Managed to squeeze a little summer fun today by making S’mores using solar ovens! Thank you to @pizzahut on #westsideyql for donating the pizza boxes! Students enjoyed their tasty S’mores and learned how the sun can be used as a source of light energy! #prsd8 @SchoolBurdett

#teambuilding activity tie ten Twizzlers using only one hand in two minutes! #prsd8 @SchoolBurdett

#teambuilding activity day 2, “Save Fred the Worm,” by putting a lifesaver (lifejacket) around Fred. The challenge was to use four paper clips and no hands! Good news! All students saved, “Fred the Worm!”#grade4students #prsd8 @SchoolBurdett

#Grade4students @SchoolBurdett did an excellent job using teamwork and problem solving skills to manipulate the cup with a rubber band and strings to create multiple cup building tower challenges! Squeals of delight could be heard when a tower was completed! #prsd8

Lastly, students wrote a play from a chapter in the novel, “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.” Students were happy to perform their news report play to students @SchoolBurdett! #prsd8

Super proud of my students for learning how to play the recorder! They learned, “Hot Cross Buns,” from memory and here is a video of, “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” Many brought money to purchase their own recorder to play at home! Impressive! #prsd8 @SchoolBurdett

These two gentlemen worked so hard building their roller coaster, even when they encountered obstacles! However, they never gave up! Super proud of them! #prsd8 @SchoolBurdett

We had a great day learning about Indigenous culture and building a tipi @PolicePointPark! We ended the day with bowling at Panorama Lanes! For some students, this was their first time bowling! #prsd8 @SchoolBurdett

We submitted our @Tomatosphere results today! We were slightly disappointed that one group of seeds had only 2 small sprouts. 😢 We were extremely surprised to learn which group of seeds were the space seeds based on our inferences and observations! #prsd8 @SchoolBurdett

Excellent perseverance and teamwork by this group of girls to build their Ferris Wheel! Huge smiles all around! #prsd8 @SchoolBurdett
