We think coral reeks will start to disappear even faster now due to high CO2 emission, overfishing, pollution, rising temperatures and more. PLUS increasing amounts of algae and plankton are decreasing the food supply for other bigger coral species #ees028 #6thextinction

Interesting unknown concept: low nitrogen and phosphorus levels at reefs SHOULD mean that there is no wildlife around the reefs BUT there is a lot of diverse life! Why...? #ees028 #6thextinction

Biosphere 2 project helped us realize that high CO2 levels do effect coral: erosion started to occur so this proves coral is not immune to CO2 #ees028 #6thextinction

Permian: Ocean Acidification --> 96% of species died out

Unfortunately you can’t do this to save all frogs. Some frogs only live in captivity now because they’re extinct in the wild. The ones in captivity don’t have much hope of going back unless treatments like this work. So let's cross our fingers! #ees028 #frogfungus

They’re let out into the Sapphire Blue Lake of the Desolation Wilderness where the fungus is present. The scientists hope that this treatment will work and they’ll be ok when the frogs are re-exposed. #ees028 #frogfungus

More than 200 are purposefully given the fungus and then before it kills them, they clear it up using an anti-fungal treatment. This is done purposefully so that when they’re let out into the wild again and they get the virus their bodies will be ready for it. #ees028 #frogfungus
