Kenneth Walker III has shoe-related ankle swelling but is expected to be fine.
Andy Reid: “The last couple days, Ken Walker, his shoe has caused some swelling on his ankle there. So we're trying to get that down, but he's okay. He's gonna be fine.”
Wayne says Alec Pierce is very close to returning but needs to be back at 100 percent.
Reggie Wayne: “We have to see when he gets there, which I think he's very, very close to doing that. Right now, I'm just focusing on what we have now and praying that he comes back the best that he possibly can be. I just tell everybody I need him back at a hundred. I don't need him back at eighty-five. I don't need him back at ninety. I need him at a hundred so he can go out there and do his best. But right now, I'm just focusing on what we have, and I'm more of a guy that's gonna prepare for the worst. So I prepare as if it's gonna be some type of setback so it won't catch me by surprise, but I pray it's not no setbacks.”
McDaniel compares Hampton's ball-in-space running traits to Terrell Davis and says he is gaining NFL confidence.
Mike McDaniel: “O reminds me—the way he plays with the ball in his hands in space, the way he sets up his blockers by pressing and bringing the ball all the way to the heels of the blockers—of somebody that is close to my heart and core. That's Terrell Davis. That's who I grew up watching. And so there's similarities that have really struck with me. If you're a talented ball carrier, the cool thing about the run game is all you're trying to do is create, you're trying to maximize the amount of space that a ball carrier can have to utilize the skill set. So it's very easy in the run game to adjust for high-producing, high-yards-per-carry players. I'm really excited about O because I think he's an extremely hard guy to tackle that's just starting to find his true NFL confidence. And guys with confidence with that amount of skill set, watch out.”
Garrett Wilson says he is returning to outside receiver work this year after not playing there regularly for a while.
Garrett Wilson: “If I had to choose to be stationary, I would say just probably the slot, just because you can eat in there. If it's man coverage, you got a lot of space. I truly, like this year, I'm getting back to playing outside, which—and we were kind of talking about on the field—all of a sudden, the routes you do catch are a little more contested, but deeper down the field, more rewarding. So there's aspects to it. I like being able to do a little bit of everything and, playing outside for me this year has been something I ain't done in a while, and I missed it.”
Ryans called adding Kayshon Boutte a major move after the loss of Jayden Higgins.
DeMeco Ryans: “Adding Kayshon was a big get for us. We know we lost a significant player for us in Jayden Higgins—hard to replace him. When you try to go out and find a guy with the caliber of Kayshon, we've played against Kayshon multiple times over the past couple years. He's continued to make plays time and time again. He showed up. He's a young player, still an ascending player with a lot to improve upon, a lot to grow. So I'm excited to work with a young player who still has a very bright and promising future, but he has that big playmaking ability already. So it's been great to have him so far. We'll get him up and rolling here as the week continues.”
Geno Smith says Adonai Mitchell has the physical tools and extra-work habits to become one of the league's better receivers.
Geno Smith: “Sky's the limit for AD, man. He's got all the physical tools. He works extremely hard. You know, he's always on the jugs. After practice, he's gonna go in there, get on the jugs, he's gonna do extra work. And he, like I said, man, he has everything, all the ability to go out there and be one of the better receivers in the game. I really, I really think he can be that. Obviously, it's my job to make sure I put the ball in his hands and let him go do his thing. But, you know, we're still a work in progress, and I think he's such a young player. It's too early to write him off, man. He's too young and too talented to be written off.”
Webb says Waddle will move around the offense and play everywhere but offensive line.
Davis Webb: “He's gonna play everywhere. He's really good. He's gonna play everything but O-line, so he'll move around.”

Alec Pierce will not practice today but is in a “really good spot.”
Shane Steichen: “Will not practice today, but he is in a really good spot. He's in a really good spot.”
Goff says the Lions will feed Sam LaPorta as one of their best players
Jared Goff: “They had Trey McBride. Yeah, he's a stud. Probably one of the best players on our team, so they were going to feed him. And Sam's one of our best players, so we will feed him. But we have guys at every skill position on offense, so we've got a lot of variability on who we can get the ball to and how we want to get it to him.”
Bucky Irving has added muscle while retaining shiftiness and has taken a step forward in protection and pass-game knowledge after surgery rehab
Baker Mayfield: “I think Bucky looks really good. He put on a lot of muscle, but still shifty as ever. And so, proud of Bucky, and that surgery sucks. I've gone through it. It's a pain. A lot of the same things routine every single day that you're itching to just get out there and do what you want, but not able to. And so he's done a great job rehabbing and coming back from that. And then I think he's looking really good right now. I think his tracks when it comes to the run game, protection-wise, I think his knowledge of what we're trying to get done in the pass game has come a long way. So he's taken another big step we were looking for him to do.”
Geno Smith says Omar Cooper Jr. has been prepared, assignment-sound, and has taken advantage of his opportunities.
Geno Smith: “I think Omar is a guy who came in right away and just has been a true professional. He studies, he works. He's always in the right places. He's taking advantage of his opportunities when they come. And he's a guy who I think is going to continue to get better every single day just by the way that he works.”
Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Bhayshul Tuten were both singled out for productive joint-practice running, with Tuten showing second- and third-level burst.
Liam Coen: “I think it was nice to see Chris kind of in the first joint look, joint against Carolina kind of shine or have some big ones, even though Tuten did as well. I thought Tuten had a really nice day today. Showed he was hitting it and had a burst at the second and third level.”
Chris Bell returned to contact work and could play if he continues progressing through a heavier practice load.
Jeff Hafley: “He was out of his red jersey. He did team, so he was in contact drills because we're thudding. The plan would be today we're going to treat like a Thursday in the season, tomorrow we'll treat like a Friday in the season. So we'll have a pretty bigger load today in practice where he'll get more reps and hopefully he'll continue to progress forward. And if he continues to do so, then I'd like to see him play in the game.”
McDaniel says Keaton Mitchell sustained a mild setback, while calling the Chargers' second- and third-string running-back depth starter-capable.
Mike McDaniel: “I think the running back position is, we sustained a mild setback with Keaton, but realistically, that's a position that you're always wanting to have three, and I like what our young guys are doing to press into that group. But realistically, it's as comfortable as I've ever been in terms of depth because you have guys that, if called upon, can go and start and take 20 carries for you if you need to. So that's where I feel like we're at with our group, with young guys trying to press into the equation, but overall, I think we have starter capability not just with the starter, but with two and three as well.”
Payton says Jonah Coleman is a savvy, smart young player with contact balance who has made a smoother transition than some rookies.
Sean Payton: “I think he, I think, he's savvy, smart. I think, you saw, I've said this a number of times, you don't feel a young player. So that's a real good trait. He's smart. He's good contact balance. And so that lends itself to a little bit smoother transition than maybe some.”
Patrick Mahomes' availability remains day-to-day with no timeline prediction from Reid.
Andy Reid: “Listen, he's doing great. We'll just see. I'm literally taking it day by day. There are no predictions here on anything. But if the doctors and trainers and everybody that are involved with this give him an okay, and then most of all, if he feels like he can, then we'll address that when we get there. But other than that, these other guys are playing quarterback and doing a nice job.”
Malik Davis drew specific praise for his pass protection in a competitive running back room.
Brian Schottenheimer: “I will speak to this about Malik Davis: he was incredible from a pass protection standpoint. Very first play of the game, they fire the free safety in the backside B gap, and he steps up and just strikes him. And then there was a nickel blitz off the edge, and he's playing with a lot of confidence.”
