Christophe Tytgat, Secretary General/CEO at @seaeurope is talking about the competitiveness and resilience in the European Maritime Technology Industry.
The question is: will novel technologies be enough to boost the shipyard industry?
Stay tuned to know the answers...
"The European maritime industry is facing both a competitive (price differences between 30-40% on average) and resilience challenge (dependence on few niche markets makes sector vulnerable and less resilient)", @CTytgat Christophe Tytgat, Secretary General/CEO at @seaeurope
The second day of the Joint Dissemination Event has just started!

"The focus is not on replacing the workers but supporting them in their daily work and thus making their work experience easier and safer and improving their quality of life" Felix Vidal, @mari4_yard 🎯
worker-centric solutions, preserving workers’ skills and biomechanics health
"Our 5.0 vision, the smart block factory ready in 2025, will move Spanish shipbuilding towards high automation, connectivity, monitoring through the shipyard digital twin, effective human-robot collaboration"Elena Carrasco, @NavantiaOficial

Germano Veiga from @INESCTEC welcomes the participants in @mari4_yard 2nd workshop held at
@INESCTEC iilab - Laboratório de Indústria e Inovação. He highlights how @mari4_yard addresses two very crucial sectors, industry and marine, developing tools to support shipyards.
#Exoskeletons are proven to improve the ergonomics of workers. Nevertheless, there is still some
reluctance to use them. Andrea Parri from IUVO states that “user-centric design is the way forward to ensure large-scale adoption of exoskeletons at workplaces
and user acceptance”
Nowadays transportation of parts between stores and workshops heavily relies on humans, but companies are willing to remove workers from such risky operations. Luis Rocha from @INESCTEC shows the mobile #manipulators developed by @mari4_yard to support such tasks.
How can we easily and quickly deploy collaborative robots? As explained by Isidro Férnandez, @aimenct
and @CanonicalRobots are doing it in
@mari4_yard by using portable equipment with reduced weight and dimensions and with magnetic bases.

The first @IndeedEUproject Practitioner's Workshop has ended !
👉 The results of the workshop will feed into the INDEED's development of an evidence-based evaluation model aimed at strengthening evidence-based practice in the field of PVE / CVE / De-#radicalization.
#StayTuned
❓ What is evidence-based evaluation?
❓ What is the relationship between evidence-based movement and the evaluation literature?
INDEED Research Forum, organised by @VUBrussel and @PolishPlatform, serves as a platform for discussing and hopefully answering these questions.
