I don’t like to use twitter much anymore but I thought it would be worth announcing that I passed my PhD viva, massive thanks to @KennethWasmund and @McCarthy_Ronan as my excellent examiners but bigger thanks to my amazing group and in particular my supervisor Prof Sam Robson! 🧬
I love the community I’ve been able to engage with throughout my PhD on this app but I can’t support what it stands for currently so I’ve changed over (until something changes)!

@KennethWasmund @br_lichtenstein Thank you!!! https://t.co/3cglkhms1u is not a great website to navigate but it’s the only one I’ve found that has lots of available post docs worldwide too!
‼️ I’m more actively looking for post doc roles now my thesis is submitted!
Where’s the best place to look, there isn’t a central hub for post docs which is annoying - feel like I’ve seen most just advertised on here?

3 months into my PhD I wrote an email to my supervisor that I never sent saying how much I was struggling, how isolated I felt and my concern about my work as we were about to head into another lockdown.
Today I submitted my thesis! 💫

Do you think anyone would volunteer to have their bioinformatics software critiqued by me on the OMGenomics youtube channel? I can start with my own, but it would be helpful to have more case studies to show the next cohort of academic software creators how to do better...
Hey, friendly reminder:
Every single one of you is a source of pride.
And no, it doesn’t matter what you’re doing, or how well it’s going.
You’re pushing knowledge further everyday, with everything that goes well and mostly the things that go poorly.
We’re proud of you.
