If you also wished Cyril and Claude had an A+ support, I've been writing a fanfic about them (still ongoing): https://t.co/tMzoVfmcku
I thought it'd be nice to document some of the stuff I found while writing it, so this is a commentary thread now, by chapter.
Having a hard time deciding between Leda and Cai for the first run. I need to know what Miss Leda's whole deal is and i want to see her fury in all its glory, but Cai's cheeky young lad energy endears me to him greatly too
@spuvelled Right but that would mean that the relative year 0 could be anywhere in the timeline and using fodlan's imperial year 0 as a frame of reference would make no sense. Was adrestia founded in year 1000 of dagda's imperial year? Year 5? Yeah 2000? We don't know!
Sorry but I really refuse to accept FW being a sequel the history lover in me rebels against the greco-roman aesthetics of FW coming after the age of exploration aesthetics of 3h. The fact that FW uses the "old" calendar from the era of the gods just says prequel to me
@boysluves It really just seems to be the Saraminians for some reason. The other dark skinned characters are significantly less washed out in their portraits (sometimes the 3d lighting still washes them out but its obvious its not the intention compared to the people from Saramis)
Instead she talks about the gods as if they're old and unknown rather than a common fact of life. She finds the remnants of the nabataean culture and transforming humanoids astounding. It just makes more sense if this is from the age of the gods that's a precursor to Adrestia
So there is confirmation that the gods have ruled Dagda for ~1500 which lines up with the start of their rule marking the year 0 of Dagda. And this is continuous! If this is just ~200 years in 3h's future, there's no reason for Shamir to find Fodlan mystical--the gods are present
I think people are jumping too fast to assume Fortune's Weave's time relative to 3h. The Imperial Calendar of Fodlan uses the founding of Adrestia as year 0. Dagda would likely use its own since it's its own empire.
@WhenFates Perhaps that lines up with them being expelled from Fodlan. But in that case, Shamir finding fodlan mystical is bizarre because the gods have been active in Dagda the whole time. It feels more like this is the age of the gods mentioned as a precursor to nemesis
I think people are jumping too fast to assume Fortune's Weave's time relative to 3h. The Imperial Calendar of Fodlan uses the founding of Adrestia as year 0. Dagda would likely use its own since it's its own empire.
@WhenFates Honestly with the description of the game having time travel I wonder if all this is a futile and its going to just be a mess of timelines lol. Either way idt the years are going to be 1:1, since it seems the gods ruled over dagda for ~1450 years and that's what their year 0 is
Lrt great time to mention that I tend to like characters that always have something in their mouth i think its a fun character tic Mr. Toothpick man I want to know you
If anything, this puts FW is even further back than I initially thought (post-nemesis, pre-3h) since its the age of the gods while by Shamir's time Dagda seems to no longer have them present given how alien she finds the remnants of the gods in Fodlan
Cool bit of lore and foreshadowing: the "avatar" character in Fortune's Weave is almost certainly the character depicted in the ancient pagan statue in Abyss in Three Houses - Hapi and Shamir discuss it being Dagda's "God of Fate" in Three Hopes
