I'm proud to share these results in their final form and look forward to their impact on the field of methanogen research. If you're interested in a brief summary of the results, you can check out the thread I wrote for the pre-print version here: https://t.co/ivEHzBw1x6
Today on BioRXiv, I am excited to share the follow up work from our ISME Comms mesocosm story. The cultivation of Ca. Methanoglobus hypatiae from a hot spring in Yellowstone National Park.
Currently under peer review. A highlight thread (1/9) @APH_AME https://t.co/TmhuBBA30o
I'm thrilled with how this story evolved, drawing on preliminary data and research from surveying 100 hot springs and screening a few with our mesocosm work. Not to mention checking off "naming an organism" from my microbial ecologist bucket list 😁🦠 https://t.co/k2rKkMU678

Since I began anaerobic culturing ~10 yrs ago, I've been dreaming of a result like this and after an exciting journey, I am thrilled to report this success. Future work will help provide valuable insights into the evolution of CH4 metabolism & the significance of these organisms.
Introducing, Dr. Lynes! Successfully defended my PhD in biochemistry in front of friends, family, and colleagues. I'm thrilled to embark on the next phase of life, and am actively searching for my next opportunity in the biotech industry! #energytransition#sustainability
The details for our May seminar are here! Head on over to our website/slack channel to get the deets and check your email for the meeting link. This will be our last meeting this session and it's going to be a good one! #asgardarchaea#ironregulation#programmedcelldeath#archaea
Thanks again to my coauthors who helped put this together including my co-first author Viola Krukenberg. A few months ago I posted a thread summarizing our findings here: https://t.co/LSCBmSwFh2
After 3+ years, I'm very excited to share the preprint for my first paper co-first authored by Viola Krukenberg that explores the diversity and function of Mcr-encoding archaea in hot springs of Yellowstone National Park. A highlight thread 🧵 (1/12) https://t.co/CCbh6j06vs
Proud to announce our mesocosm publication is out! It took an immense amount of work to tell this story and I'm excited to be able to share it now in its final form. #methane#methanogens#archaea#yellowstone#metagenomics https://t.co/AizHQhpx1W
