I'm hiring a coordinator for our #mesophotic Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures (ARMS) program! This exciting new project will generate unprecedented amounts of information about the biodiversity of deep reefs in the Pacific. Spread the word! https://t.co/UXRak9cEED
Sharing this beautiful story by @washingtonpost’s @MJ_Coren about how his trip with our @calacademy scientists led him to fall in love with moths and discover why “mothing” may be the best way to discover the miracle of biodiversity in your own backyard. https://t.co/YjV2jc3ObZ
Our latest publication, led by graduate student Reinaldo Mercado-Hernandez, investigates the association of obesity with dengue virus infection and disease in Nicaragua https://t.co/E7e0cBLYYO
This is outragous! Natural history collections are irreplaceable and critical for research. I signed this petition and I hope you will too. #CollectionsAreEssential
Our lab has just returned from 3 wks in Curacao resurveying our monitoring sites during the ongoing coral bleaching event. Despite the heartbreak of witnessing the reefs' deterioration and the loss of century-old colonies, there were also hopeful signs of recovery and resilience
It's my pleasure to announce that the amazing @ashadevos was selected as a 2024 Osher Fellow by the @calacademy! She will spend this week here in San Francisco sharing her great work and passion for marine conservation with us! Welcome Asha! https://t.co/CNcpvpB3Bs
An achievement I have been able to realize largely due to the support and mentorship of folks like @LaBeaud_Lab, @morde, @KristinSainani, @MicrobeExplorer, and @JasonAndrewsMD! Excited to continue working with such smart scientists to tackle important infectious disease problems.
Congratulations to Dr. Nikos Vasilakis @Vasilakis_Lab on receiving the 2023 Dalrymple/Young Award from @ACAV_ASTMH! The award is given every three years to a mid-career investigator who has made outstanding contributions to arbovirology. Well-deserved!
Congratulations to Dr. Shannan Rossi @Rossi_viruslab, who is a new Fellow of the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene @ASTMH.
Additional, she has been elected Chair-Elect of the American Committee on Arthropod-Borne & Zoonotic Viruses @ACAV_ASTMH. Outstanding!
