If you claim to be a leader in any way—political leader, thought-leader, business leader, religious leader—and you don’t stand up and say clearly that America must keep this man away from power, then you’re no kind of leader at all.
@boagworld - big fan, spotted a lurking typo on your subscribe/confirm page in case not aware: instead of “book a one-hour coaching session” the heading says “on-hour”. Cheers.
This is an extraordinarily serious allegation. Badenoch should be obliged either to produce evidence or withdraw. Higher education is an important source of income and prestige for the UK. Smearing our universities like this is highly irresponsible.
Last night’s debate had two features I like very much: substance and civility. And yet, JD Vance told us he was totally cool with Trump’s refusal to abide by the 2020 election results. The more *normal* one sounds when saying insane things, the more alarmed we should be.
@stphnpward Trump is a massive narcissist. You need to butter him up and manipulate him, otherwise you’ll get nothing from him if he wins. It’s good tactics. It doesn’t mean Starmer wants him to win. Quite the opposite - Starmer’s strategist Deborah Mattinson has been advising Harris’s team.
I know we’re all focused on what Harris needs to do tonight, but I hope the moderators will ensure Donald Trump explains clearly his position on abortion. As well as why he plans to pardon those who attacked the Capitol on January 6th, refused to engage in the peaceful transfer of power, what he thinks about his VP saying it was better when women stayed with their abusive husbands, what evidence does he have that the 2020 election was stolen, why he dined with white supremacists, how he feels about being an adjudicated rapist, why he said he would suspend the constitution, what was he thinking when he demanded Georgia election officials go find him 11,000 votes, why he has such a warm relationship with Vladimir Putin, what he thinks about being the first convicted felon to seek the Presidency, and, finally, why he should be trusted with America’s secrets after refusing to return stolen classified documents he was keeping in his bathroom. There’s probably a few more….
Suzanne Spaak, a Belgian socialite, saved hundreds of Jewish children during WW2 by organising their escape from Nazi-occupied Paris. She was active in the Resistance and used her privilege to fund rescue missions.
She was executed in 1944, days before the liberation of Paris.
