@collnsmith really takes the fun out of it; i always enjoyed making inferences about the sellers from their prose (eg your fussy collector type vs obvious boomer-speak, ellipses, two spaces after every period, etc)
@collnsmith just started noticing that this month - i’m on a kick hunting ‘70s hi-fi equipment (with the beautiful walnut veneers etc) and virtually every item description is a stream of llm babble
@NYCTSubway don’t think it’s severe enough to delay the train, but you’ve got water dribbling out of car 6023’s ceiling panels, uptown C, northern end of the car; floors are getting a little slick
@DeadsoundApp love this show — people rag on keith’s ‘78 output so much, but as always, jgb seems to exist in an alternate universe where defects or lulls in the GD’s playing are nowhere to be found
@ForgottenNY have you ever done a post on hamilton beach? stumbled on the park/beach next to the train bridge over broad channel; guy who lives at the southern tip (with his hens, geese, and rabbits) told us it used to be lined with bungalows back in the 50s
@FateMusicJG streaming the wonderful 10/31/92 (i adore this performance of ‘and it stoned me’) and have only just read that you provided the liner notes! i’ll have to get a copy of the CD. i’m so grateful for everything the blog has introduced me to, and look forward to the book
