I am at a loss for words. For now, I'll share a line from what we sent to Walkinshaw when he bought the paper and initially tried to fire Rich:
"Flatly, if you buy The Stranger and fire Rich Smith, you did not buy The Stranger at all."
@Hernando_206 @pushtheneedle@curmudgeon_x Yes, I could not believe the money my coworkers were wasting on food at work, it was one of many ways I never really fit with the culture there.
@pushtheneedle@curmudgeon_x And by “cafeteria” I mean the mall-type food courts and other individual IKEA-style restaurants that were located within most of the SLU buildings past the badge turnstiles.
@pushtheneedle@curmudgeon_x When I worked there most people did in fact buy lunch every day, but a large percentage of them went to the Amazon cafeterias
@xiebob@exante_me@viviansong Yes, if the State Superintendent were given financial oversight of SPS, he would close Seattle schools. https://t.co/98GoS7Kewr
Anyone who wants to turn financial oversight of SPS over to the state in order to avoid school closures is also going to have to make sure a different Superintendent of Public Instruction gets elected...

“That doesn't mean you grow class size - this isn't about class size - it's about whether you have too many administrators. Could you have fewer by consolidating? And I think that's what probably three or four districts around the state have to genuinely look at”
@ericacbarnett @RosesPaintedRed FYI, the lumping together of requests is done to other organizations as well and not just publications. It’s a problem. I suppose the best workaround would be for orgs to maintain spreadsheets of burner accounts and passwords.
We want to see your art! 🎨OPA is accepting art submissions from youths 18 and under to be featured in our 2023 annual report. We’re inviting young artists to showcase their creativity and talent by expressing what “meaningful police oversight” looks like: https://t.co/1dtfN1Bk7p
