A Harvard psychologist turned countercultural icon, Leary helped bring psychedelics out of clinical & intellectual circles and into mainstream
American consciousness.

He also helped turn them into a media spectacle, accelerating the political backlash that followed.

Near the end of his life, when asked what he regretted, his answer was classic.

Instead of offering remorse or reflection, he doubled down with a line that was playful, provocative, and quintessentially Leary.

Even at the end, Leary refused to give his critics the satisfaction of an apology.
