Well done to all the children that participated in the cross country at Sledmere House tonight. You should all be very proud of yourselves!! ๐โโ๏ธ ๐โโ๏ธ@beswickwatton
We are happy to announce that Middleton Minis is reopening, in-line with Government guidelines, on Tuesday 27th April.
Come along for the full 2 hours or any times in between.
Places are limited to 15 adults, so will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
As always, we'll be on Teams as much as we can between teaching in school so that we can support learning and offer feedback. We sincerely hope that Thursdays and Fridays become less intense and thank you for all your support in helping with learning at home.
As home learning can be intense (for you and the children!), we've decided to do things differently on Thursdays and Fridays in KS2.
On Thursdays, we'll be posting project based work which is NOT designed to be completed in a day.
On Fridays, we'll be putting up a 'menu' for the children to choose from. There will be a mix of online and offline learning in the hope that children will enjoy choosing which paths they go down. All activities are helpful to develop learning and revise concepts.
Lots of links to interesting websites, some games, ideas for activities... Weโre sure thereโs something useful on the website if you choose not to use Teams, or if you want to use some of the stuff alongside Teams.
However you choose to run your home learning, weโre here to help
We know home learning can be tricky.
Over this week, weโve been uploading videos for the children to use via Teams.
Of course, thatโs just one way your children could learn.
As well as the videos weโve made, weโve updated our home learning section on our school website.
Following the Prime Ministerโs announcement at 8pm tonight, it has been confirmed that all primary schools will be closed from tomorrow. Middleton school will be closed to all pupils other than children of key workers and other groups as defined by previous government guidance.
Some of the highlights in year 5/6 from the last few weeks include a virtual visit from @doyle_cat, wrapping our surprise fair presents, leading our Christmas assemblies and, of course, Christmas dinner.

Our tiny houses are coming along nicely in Year 5/6. Weโre putting the shells together first and then wiring them using our understanding of electricity. โก๏ธ ๐ก ๐
We canโt go on trips at the minute - COVID restrictions - so, brought a trip to us via the magic of the internet.
A big thanks to Mr Egypt for talking to us about the Stone Age, showing us real Stone Age artefacts and answering our questions.
Congratulations to Middleton-on-the-Wolds CE Primary School @middletonsch on getting in to the top 10 on the #10ticksMentalMaths School Hall of Fame Leader Board this month ๐
Keep up the good work, in order to stay in the top 10

This week, weโve been contacted with some great home learning using Lego to build the key characters in our new book โThe Tadpoleโs Promiseโ then using them to act it out. Keep up the hard work! ๐ธ ๐ฆ ๐
