Its 6:14am
This toddler has been crying for over 30 minutes, the parents refuse to acknowledge then him and when he finally stopped crying, the mother gets up to beat the 7 year old from sleep for bed wetting, at 6:14am just so that one can cry too.
I have no words for this.
I have always known they're irresponsible parents, I just didn't know the cries of the kids is actually music to their ears.
Nearly 30-40 mins of tears, screams that all neighbours surrounding can hear?
I really need to ask God questions, like why give the undeserving children.
There's an account that deep cleans homes and places on demand.
I need her and I can't find her account anymore 😭😭😭
She created a cleaning company after starting out solo.
I've searched everywhere and I can't find her, I don't know if I connected with here or elsewhere.
To think my Ijebu momma also doesn't even bother to ask also lol but nahhh I'm not suspicious.
I look at my family and more validation is placed on your personal achievements - from education, to career goals etc rather than marriage... so yep I'm not even curious to ask her.
My mum has never pressured my sisters or me about marriage before and honestly, I find it suspicious 😭
Because almost every Nigerian mother I know behaves like marriage is a JAMB admission.
My friends can’t even drink water in peace without hearing:
‘When are you bringing a man home?’
But my mum?
Silence 😭
So out of curiosity, I told her:
‘Mummy, I don’t think I want to marry or even have children.’
Omo I was preparing for war.
I expected:
‘God forbid!’
‘Who offended you?’
‘You must marry!’
‘Who will take care of you when you’re old?!’
This woman just looked at me and said:
'Okay o. Marriage is not easy. If you don’t want it, don’t let society pressure you.’
😭😭😭
I almost checked if this woman was truly from Ijebu because what kind of emotionally stable response was that???
Towards the end of the year, I will be investing in more 2 pieces-my bookmarks and saves are crying but damn!
My wardrobe needs to be overhauled - and I'll do this once or twice...
I cannot wait for when I start buying and receiving them 🤭

A longshot but well...might as well mention it.
“We’ve donated 100 million to help petty traders and I know people have been talking that I said Akara, but it’s not only Akara, we also have Booli sellers, tomato sellers, vegetable sellers and pepper sellers too, we’ll continue to empower them”
First Lady responds to critics over her Akara remarks
I believe it's absolutely possible to have a retentive memory &... a goldfish memory at the same time.
Why?
Because I have both 🥹
I can remember incidents from years ago vividly like crazy and forget where I placed what in minutes, I do not know how best to describe this 😭😂
“You cannot be a Christian and a feminist because Christianity covers all.” Okay.
Christianity teaches Imago Dei that all human beings are created in the image of God and possess equal inherent worth and dignity.
Those who make this argument often say labels are unnecessary because Christianity already covers everything. Fair enough.
Then why is this argument applied so selectively?
There are climate activists. Christianity teaches stewardship of creation. Why not tell them Christianity already covers environmental responsibility and they should stop using that label?
There are anti-human trafficking advocates. Christianity teaches justice and human dignity. Why not tell them Christianity already covers that?
There are mental health advocates. Christians are called to care for those who are hurting. Why not tell them Christianity already covers that?
There are anti-racism advocates. Christianity teaches that all people bear God's image and deserve equal dignity. Why not tell them Christianity already covers that?
There are disability rights advocates. Christianity teaches compassion, inclusion, and care for vulnerable people. Why not tell them Christianity already covers that?
Some people would rather I call myself an SDG 5 advocate. Being an SDG 5 advocate and a feminist is essentially advocating for the same goal, but somehow SDG 5 advocate sounds more acceptable to some people. That, too, is a label. If labels are the problem, then surely all advocacy labels should be a problem.
Why are climate activists, anti-racism advocates, disability rights advocates, and SDG 5 advocates not told to abandon their labels because Christianity already covers those concerns?
Why is the rule applied only to feminism?
As for me, I studied feminism academically and my PhD research engaged feminist thought. By some people's logic, that alone would make me a sinner.
If the argument is truly that Christianity covers all, then apply it consistently to every cause and every advocacy label. If not, perhaps the issue is not labels themselves but a particular discomfort with one specific label.
You don't punish her child that is seeking refuge from the elderly, you allow the elderly be the judge.
Don't we understand dynamics of our culture anymore?
