@ShockinglyDeft "Absolutely."
Diana stuffed her hands into her pockets as she glanced over at Reno, the pair walking in tandem through the streets of Wall Market.
"Up for leaving the sector? I know a place in 7."
@ShockinglyDeft Within 10 minutes, as she promised, she emerged from the back, a few inches shorter after trading her heels for combat boots, yet she still had that flair with her.
Her leather jacket concealed her tank top, more casual than what she wore to work.
"This way, red."
@ShockinglyDeft If he caught it before her hair covered her face and hid it, a faint flush of red tainted her cheeks just for a second.
"I guess I've avoided that long enough."
She threw him a wink.
"But. Not here. If you're determined to spend a drink with me, let's go somewhere else."
@ShockinglyDeft She laughs at that, not her usual uptight and performative laugh, something much more real.
Diana glanced at the clock on the wall.
"Shame, my shift ends in 10. I'll have to hand you over to another waitress for the rest of the night. But, it is good to see that pretty face."
@ShockinglyDeft There she was, leaning on the countertop with a smirk on her lips.
"Reno of the Turks. Here I was thinking you'd gone AWOL on us."
Diana slid a glass in his direction, rolling her eyes at his demeanor.
He catches it, choosing to say nothing, he bows his head, moving to head past her. Though, he hesitates for a moment. Turning back to face her, he tilts his head.
โAre you the headliner tonight? For the show?โ
Something different flashes across Diana's eyes for a brief second, something...almost like pain.
As quick as it arrives, it's gone, with a roll of the eyes.
"Dates don't pay rent, Turk."
Gesturing over to his usual booth.
"Go ahead."
Of course, his favourite worker is there. Sauntering past, clad in rose gold, a tight fitting dress and the materia heels once more.
She had a tray of glasses in her hand, the other on her waist as she raised an eyebrow at him.
"You're back? It's been a while. No date?"
For just a moment, her facade broke, a small laugh escaping her, as she poured a Cosmo Canyon into a glass and slid it over to him.
"Don't make me regret not booting you out with the rest of them, Reno."
Pouring her own, she leaned her elbow against the bar, chin in hand.
โeveryone around your finger. Canโt really blame them. Think you could crumble empires with that smile of yours.โ
Setting a few gil on the counter, heโd take a seat.
โHowโs about a drink? For both of us.โ
He was quickly becoming a favourite patron of hers. A smile on her lips as she commanded the bees to keep his glass filled.
Yet she'd never let this on, of course. Better not to let the Turk's ego inflate.
Madame M's performance came to a close a few hours later, -
Still behind the bar, false flirting with every customer that came in. Diana was sickeningly sweet, the Honeybee name really applying to her more than anyone else in the room.
Still in those gold heels, materia sparkling in the base. Makeup and hair perfect, nails pristine. -
- like she wasn't truly real, some sort of Shinra hologram or something.
She enjoyed the splendor of it all.
Her eyes caught Reno for a split second, and eyebrow raising at him as she sent Emma off with a drink towards him.
Well. She couldn't indulge him with her service -
- For a while, Diana stood behind the bar, serving drinks tocher patron's with that signature smile of hers. Casting the odd glance in Reno's direction.
Lydia wasn't there, instead a different girl, introducing herself as Emma, came to take care of him.
Diana was there too, eyebrow raised that he'd come back. She shot him a look, just a small nod as she continued work as normal.
There had to be a reason why he was here. -
โcelebrating in their own way. He had found himself wantingโฆmore alcohol, and a show. He waited to be served, not making direct eye contact with anyone if he could help it. An attempt to make them less intimidated.
An eyeroll.
"Last orders, Reno. Show ends in 30."
Diana would spend the rest of the evening in the back, ensuring her girls were safe and well paid, even splitting Reno's tip amongst them.
She would help usher the customers out the door when the lights came on. And that -
