Good morning #GardensHour Greetings from Dungog. I will be moving 2 a new spot on the edge of Dungog when my beautiful slice of heaven is sold; so I’m enjoying it w/ a tinge of sadness @ the prospect of leaving. The new place is 4 acres so I can have my horses with me. 😢🥳
@Anntics Oh dr Ann, I’m so sorry! I’m sitting here snivelling 4 your loss. What a wonderful life he had w/ you - and your beautiful years with him. I imagine he 𝒘𝒂𝒔 the star in ur life, indeed; he must have made difficult times less onerous & the many good times engraved on your heart
@GardensHour Since I’m moving, of course I’m taking lots of cuttings, including from the Brazilian Red-cloak, which also happens to be flowering. So we’ve scored a vase inside as well. I hope the cuttings strike, bc it’s a lovely thing. (Megaskepasma pachy-something-or-other)
@Trinkle96619465 He’s, it is a bit of a wonky face!😆 But no, it will stay here as it has become the Python pied-à-terre and is old and a bit falling apart: to move it would spell disaster. The new place has lots of bird visitors, mainly parrots etc, but with more shrubs the wrens etc will come
@Maro2Bear Thank u Mark. I’m hoping it will Bcome so. It has a nice outlook & 2 little dams, no steps (2 many here) & is a nice pleasant block of land - & I’ll have the 🐎s there, which will be lovely. Of course I’ll need tree guards around the 30 or so little trees I’m going to plant…🙄
@Preservation945 Thank you Anne. That’s my hope. I intend to leave a letter for the new owners asking them to do that - esp the wildlife. And not to poison the rats, bc the pythons eat them. And the trees - leave the trees! BUT of course we can’t dictate once it’s sold. Can only hope 🤞🤞🤞
@babsmaryj Thank you for the kind words Barbara. Yes, it will be hard to leave it but I’m looking at this as a new chapter in an old book. I figure the new garden and many trees I’ll plant will be mature enough in 10 yrs and I’ll only be 79!! And the horses 🐎 with me will be great.
@Anntics Hi Dr Ann!! I hike you and Bernie the Elder are doing well. Yes it’s a bit of a roller coaster, and the “carriage” is mostly perched on the crest, about to descend!! I have my fingers crossed. The “new” house is in very poor shape but the builder tells me he’s revived worse 😆😳
@Trinkle96619465 They look beautiful Trinkle! It’s often the way isn’t it? Here, we “need rain”, then it comes and it’s all or nothing: far too much often!
@GardensHour Thank u - ur very kind. It will be a “new chapter” & I’m looking forward to planting the 20+ trees I’ve already got going, & to making a “small but charming” 🤣🤣garden that I can keep under control. And yes - the🐎s
Priority - stopping the rascals from eating said small trees🤣
@Trinkle96619465@GardensHour That happens! 🤷♀️ I’ve already got rid of a lot and have advertised 4 sale (& already sold some of) the things I know won’t fit in the “new” house, which is less than half the size of my place; so much simply won’t fit. 😱
@Trinkle96619465 I really appreciate ur kind words Trinkle. Esp today, when I’m all jittery - going 2 the bank to finalise the “deal”. On Friday I’ll be given the key and can go explore 𝒎𝒚 “new place”. V exciting. Max can have a good look round & my friends & I can imagine how it will be. 🥳
Good morning #GardensHour! Greetings from Dungog. I’m working towards selling my beautiful garden and moving to a paddock 😱where I can have my horses with me. New - small - garden and lots of trees and shrubs to be planted. It’ll probably take longer than May but it’s under way.
@Trinkle96619465 Reminds me of the chaos of our move from Sydney to here - Hans did almost nothing towards packing; I was beside myself; then the movers (who were actually great) couldn’t fit everything into the container/truck & we had to make 3 trips back to get stuff & still left a lot behind
Good morning & greetings from Dungog! It is now autumn but the colour hasn’t yet arrived. However, Mrs Python, who was taken away 4 care after some injuries, arrived home yesterday after 7 months. Very exciting. Voiceover Inc me telling Max the dog to stay away. #GardensHour
@Trinkle96619465 Thanks for the encouragement Trinkle. It will be lovely to have them with me - quite a different experience (altho they’ll still go 2 Fosterton [video] part-time - which I’m aware will probably be more difficult for having them with me at all…) But paddocks need resting etc
@rosesukroses Thank you for the encouraging words! I won’t move till my place is sold. It’s on the market as of yesterday, so fingers crossed. The “new” house needs quite a bit of work before properly moving in: I may have to camp there while work is done. But yes - 🐎s right there will B good
