Some progress in turning MIDITROL into an AU. The good news is that I can get controller signals inside the AU, but the problem is that if you lose the focus of the GUI the AU no longer receive the gamepad signals. Even if this could be helpful it won’t work as expected.
I just hacked the @Xbox Adaptive Controller to make a custom touch modulator for my O-Coast. The controller also works as a CV to MIDI converter. I’m still exploring the possibilities of this device for music production. So far so good.
@JamieRHale You can try to built your own triggers. All the official kits for the adaptive controller are not cheap at all. But any button component with a positive and negative inputs will do the work for the triggers and any kind of resistor will work for analog inputs.
Great project by Rory Steel, the adaptive gaming controller is an amazing device. Congratulations @JerseyITGuy you Rock, If you would like to see Ava playing music, please PM me so I can offer you a free download code of our App. We’re so excited to help making music accessible.
Version 2.1.0 is almost done.
What’s new:
- Store and manage configuration settings in presets.
- Load presets with any controller button.
- Toggle mode for buttons.
- Persists global settings.
- Bug fixes.
Coming next weekend.
We love de PS4 gamepad, in the next release, we’ll include touchpad and motion support for it, that’s a massive total of 21 analog controls plus 16 digital buttons in a single controller.
The adaptive controller from Microsoft is not compatible with iOS, then it will not be compatible with MIDITROL which is a shame, there's a lot of potential there. Is there any plans to add support to iOS & Android devices @Xbox ?
@xonethsoul @Apple Yep, I'm working on an Android release, but then I switched to make a better iOS version. Feedback is essential to improve, thanks a lot for yours. I will love to know how do you use the app, feel free to share whatever you want with me. An update is coming soon.
Since the launch of MIDITROL, I’ve sold 9 copies of the app. That’s $31.31 USD of profit after @apple cuts. 80% of that sells comes from the USA, so that money comes back to you right now because #BlackLivesMatter
I just send a suggestion to Apple to support the Siri Remote on their Game Controller framework via feedback assistant. I need that to be able to play with it on MIDITROL. The Siri Remote currently only works on Apple TV.
