(1/3) I saw a lot of GDC 2024 advice about rest/health & I gave it a go: I took mid-day siestas either in the park or in my room, I wore a mask as much as possible & washed my hands or used hand sani frequently, I didn’t drink or go to parties & I was in bed by 11pm each night

(3/3) GDC was notably more energizing/refreshing for me this year with this added emphasis on self care. I had some FOMO for the night life, but I still got SO much out of the event without that element. I still feel like I ’got my money’s worth’. 10/10 I recommend this approach.

(2/3) I even scheduled a vacation right after GDC so I had time to recoup & rest incase I ended up getting sick or needing time to recalibrate after the event. Shockingly, I didn’t get sick and I didn’t really need time to recalibrate.

yeeears ago I was reprimanded by a professor for hand-painting over my normal maps to achieve the exact effect I wanted & now it's a revolutionary new workflow. Rather than feeling bitter, I'm actually thankful for this growth/change in perspective because YO IT STILL LOOKS GREAT
