There is only one way you get away from them. You leave.

There is no middle ground. Forget setting boundaries, or treating them like they treat you, or explaining, or crying, or giving them just one more chance.

Nothing will work, and you are wasting time and energy. You are getting sucked further and further into this toxic relationship, and with every passing day, your self esteem takes a little hit.

Minimise your pain. Get out as soon as you know you are dealing with a narcissist. I wish I had known. Instead, I limped on, trying to make it work. Afterwards, I was astonished at myself, and very disappointed- why had I wasted a decade of my life on someone who manifestly didn't love me, and was clearly lying and cheating? It made my recovery more difficult too- by that time I was a wreck.

Learn from my mistakes. Check the red flags. If you are with a narcissist, get the hell out, and block them. You will never regret it. You WILL regret it if you stay.

My wife left her handbag in the car.
I was looking for my charger when I found a phone I'd never seen before.
It wasn't her main phone.
