So today I did a search on #Albania and what is going on there! It seems that the #MSM is letting us down again, not reporting the facts, but instead, fake news.
@Reuters It's not over, Kushner; it's over corruption and people's land being sold without permission, as well as protracted land being sold. I mean, it can't get any worse than this.
@traver8e@HumansofEarth6 @jay4houg ...
US outlets ignoring most foreign crimes is often true. But the real issue here is UK MSM barely covering their own story properly. Dec 2025 Sky News was a 2-sentence charging note. The full details only exploded after the May 28 verdict: 21cm kirpan, killer on audio saying "I am a bad man," lying about a "racist attack" (court called it a "wicked lie"), police handcuffing the bleeding-out 18yo Henry Nowak while he begged for help, then the apology + IOPC probe. Social media forced the real coverage.
Floyd was a convicted criminal (armed robbery etc.) with fentanyl and meth in his system yet a US case with zero direct UK link still got weeks of wall-to-wall UK media coverage, protests, "take the knee," BLM marches everywhere. When the narrative fits, foreign stories get amplified. When it doesn't, local ones get downplayed. That's the blatant inconsistency.
Both the 80yo Navy vet Franklin Agbotui and Henry Nowak were tragic murders that deserved better coverage. May they both rest in peace. It's not about skin colour the problem is the leftward tilt where law and media aren't applied straight, letting idiots exploit it and breed more hate. Facts over feelings.
@traver8e That Sky News article from December 2025 was a bare-bones charging report right after the incident. The real coverage the 21cm kirpan, the attacker caught saying “I am a bad man,” police handcuffing the dying 18-year-old victim (multiple stab wounds) based on his racism claim, the IOPC probe, and the full trial details is only coming out now in May 2026.
That’s the coverage I’m talking about, and it’s clearly being driven by the social media attention this case is getting. UK media is reacting to pressure, not proactively leading.
@HumansofEarth6 Calling it “conspiratard nonsense” doesn’t change the timeline or the court facts.
Legacy media follows virality @jwu277’s George Floyd point actually proves it. Without the video and public pressure, that case wouldn’t have gotten the wall-to-wall treatment either. Same dynamic here.
The original post highlighted that US outlets have basically ignored it entirely while the story gains traction because of X. If you can show major US legacy media running in-depth pieces on this before the recent virality, go ahead.
Lmao, "conspiratard nonsense" and "you haven't studied each outlet" while completely ignoring the timeline and court facts.
The Dec 2025 Sky News piece was literally a 2-sentence charging report. The actual story — 21cm kirpan blade, attacker on video saying "I am a bad man," police handcuffing the bleeding-out 18-year-old victim because the killer screamed "racist attack" first (a claim the court called a "wicked lie"), police apology, IOPC probe — only dropped this week after the May 28 verdict.
That's why it's blowing up now on X. UK media is finally covering the full insanity because of the pressure. US outlets? Still near-zero. George Floyd got endless loops from minute one. This gets crickets until the trial forces it. Not "guess work" — observable reality.
@HumansofEarth6 calling basic pattern recognition "absurd" doesn't make US MSM suddenly obsessed with random UK stabbings when the politics don't fit.
@jay4houg... "Emotional racist side quest"? The killer lied, victim died handcuffed while begging for help, jury convicted. Police apologised. That's not "side quest," that's the story. Cope harder.
Facts over feelings, lads.
He didn’t magically hack private keys and “grab” random cold wallets like in a movie.
Bessent is hyping sanctions enforcement US pressured Tether to blacklist $344M+ in USDT on sanctioned Iranian regime addresses (they can do that because Tether is centralized). Plus freezes on exchanges/custodians that follow US law.
Real private Bitcoin self-custody with good opsec is still safe. This is governments targeting sloppy sanctions evasion through regulated on/off-ramps not “Bitcoin is broken.”
The lie is in the oversimplified “we just grabbed the wallets” talk.
The tech works when used properly.
@cz_binance agree on AI most will flame out, survivors gonna be wild rides, new ones popping up forever. Classic cycle.
You've said similar stuff on crypto plenty of times (those 1000+ BTC forks, the ICO wave, DeFi/NFT hype bunch of straight scams, most others just die anyway). Spot on, keeps it real.
But here's the thing that's always bugged me as someone in the spaceq why don't we hammer that same message harder on the listings side? Binance and the other big exchanges greenlit thousands of these low-effort meme/shitcoin "startups" with zero product, no revenue, just hype marketing and celeb pumps. A ton rugged or faded to nothing, but they're still sitting there trading.
Exchanges rake in the fees either way.
Would love to see Binance push even stricter listing standards and call out the junk more openly it'd actually clean things up long term instead of just riding the volume. What do you think?
