i don't think every 5 star read needs to be life-changing or a literary masterpiece. sometimes a book gets 5 stars simply because i had lots of fun reading it.

sometimes a book is five stars because it's a masterpiece. sometimes it's five stars because it made my brain release dopamine. both are valid.

i just finished 'they never learn' by layne fargo and overall, i enjoyed it. it was fast paced and kept me intrigued with a few twists throughout, especially the reveal of carly. there were also a few more smaller twists in the second half but i found the end a little predicable.
