@gaoblai Would love to, however the existing campaign for an independent Mercia is small and seems to be inactive. We would need leaders and reps and I wouldn’t know where to start! Plus Midlands has quite a lot of solid Conservatism and doesn’t suffer N/S divide as much as North.
This just ONE (1) day after it was announced that the Tories wanted to continue their so called “pledge” to level up the North. Well a good place to start might be to make sure that hundreds of their small businesses, their owners and employees aren’t destroyed by a pandemic.
Yes! Also, the fight for disabled rights is not over until disabled people can marry without losing their access to any of the state benefits they need to survive.
After 6 MONTHS of brutal local restrictions, Leicestershire is back into tier three. As someone who lives here I feel confident to say that we have been treated like a lockdown guinea pig, our economy has been dealt an awful blow and we are still no better forward for it.
We are horrified about the prospect of £29m of public money being used to finance a Brexit Festival! That money could go towards a plethora of more urgent causes including financial support for the Excluded, helping to end the cladding scandal and uplifting UC for longer 😡
@philipproudfoot The BTL housing snap-up causes a shortage of affordable housing to buy and brings up the ultimatum of either taking out a mortgage and bring one life changing event or illness away from severe mortgage arrears or getting trapped in rent and being unable to save for a mortgage.
“I hope nobody has been Excluded” Boris you know that 3 million people have. Pretending to be an ignoramus doesn’t make the ministers demanding answers look stupid, it makes you look stupid @BorisJohnson@ExcludedUK
Sad news about hospitality today. Millions of hardworking, diligent people rely on this sector for their income, paying their mortgages, affording rent and supporting themselves through university studies. Huge negative impact on the supply chains too.
@PatrickFarnwor3 @drakethebeast0 We can definitely see your point! Perhaps a few starting opinion polls would be a good way to see where views stand in the Midlands at the moment and take it from there!
We would love to join Northumbria in it’s independence but we need much more education and campaigning here if we are to change the majority of people’s minds. We wouldn’t want to hold Indy North back by demanding independence now which is why we class ourselves as friends.
@drakethebeast0 Additionally, if we help push the NIP campaign through and you get the referendum, those of us who wanted out from the Midlands could move up North. We just want to amplify your voice. The more voices a campaign gets, the more Westminster sits up and listens.
