My new Substack entitled 'Untergang: Australia' where I talk about economically perilous situation in Australia... Inspired in part from @matt_barrie 's work.
@BitPundit Yes I have been saying the same thing for ages . I think it’s the most critical film on feminism ever made and it’s one of Obamas favourite films or something lol .
Little-known fact:
Polistena, deepest Calabria: one, non-Italian name stands out on the public board outside the town hall, naming victims of Mafia violence. 1989: Colin Winchester, Assist. Commissioner 🇦🇺 Federal Police -gunned down Canberra 1989 -a Ndrangheta hit for … 1/2
If your country owns abundant natural resources, a smart population, in a peaceful region but you accumulate $1 trillion in debt - your government is not "fit for purpose". Entire leadership class has failed, Josh Frydenberg worst Treasurer in Oz history but Jim Chalmers clearly out of his depth, no authority no urgency, not a serious person.
@JaysonLavie@Ad_Tel_210168 That was what Mussolini said prior to ww2, which lead to the Italian Navy not creating carriers, which lead to them being technologically surpassed by Britain.
@trikomes "Seed oils' at this point is not a useful umbrella for bad. Eg, High Oleic Sunflower oil has the same pufa around 10% as EVOO, whereas corn oil has something like 50... Both are classified as seed oils though
@robertlasagna1 Yeah this was my take on the film. Also another criticism I have of it, was that it played out exactly as expected from a Theroux documentary, seeing as he is usually so predictable he could have used this opportunity to try something new here.
@danielfazio I always wonder to what extent a lot of these 'complex illnesses,' have psychosomatic elements to it. I don't mean it as a way to denigrate people suffering from it, but in the sense that I think people need to be more open to it and it needs to be stigmatised less.
Jeffrey Epstein hyping up Bobby Kotick to develop the video game micro-transaction economy is a generational info-nuke, man. Two Jewish billionaires salivating over the idea of “indoctrinating children into the economy” is some Protocol of the Learned Elders-tier demonism
There is a symbiotic relationship between goby fish and certain shrimp. The gobies, which have better eyesight, watch for threats, while the shrimp, which are better diggers, dig and maintain the burrow. Both use the burrow to sleep at night and for protection from predators 🐠🦐
If you were on the original Lookism/Looksmax forums you'll be aware that toward the end of it people were starting to update their "mental models" for the fact that once you control for the low-class and low-quality overrepresentation in your sample of mating trends, status/social class starts to massively outperform physical attractiveness in predictive capacity, so focus had started to shift toward analyzing the former a lot more at the cost of the latter
If we're to assume that this is broadly how it's gonna play out now that these things have entered the mainstream, we can make an educated guess that within a year or so we'll just move on from looksmaxxing and circle back to good old fashioned class analysis and 19th-20th century social theory from first principles
My favorite thing about silver blowing up (aside from my personal portfolio being weighted heavily towards it) is that silverbugs are a special type of person who deserve this moment. You have to admire the sheer, monolithic discipline required to remain a long-term bull in a market that has been flat since 2011. Consider the psychological architecture of a man who watches Bitcoin go to six figures, watches the S&P 500 inflate on cheap debt, and yet he sits there, unwavering, holding a stack of vintage Engelhard bars. He didn't chase the dopamine. He didn't get discouraged. He rejected digital abstraction for the cold, heavy reality of precious metal. It is a form of asceticism really. While the rest of the world played with paper and ghosts in a machine, these guys stayed locked in with an almost religious devotion to what is, after the horse, the most Lindy form of wealth.
@SardineTruther It's funny I've seen heaps of girls bios on hinge in the last week or so say that they are living in Berlin and back in Melb for a holiday or 'test running' a move back lol
A core liberal belief is The Antechamber of Souls, where your spirit waits before being randomly assigned to a newly born child.
Sometimes you can be assigned to the wrong body, hence “a woman in a man’s body”
The older terrorist was temporarily disarmed THREE times by different UNARMED members of the public, some of whom were in aged 60+. You can't argue that police officers couldn't do anything because they only had pistols. They also REFUSE to say when police arrived on the scene.
Good article by @midtierbugman on recent discussions re “anhedonia”, this from a perspective of Stirner’s writings. Much more approachable than what I wrote on this topic as well. “Deviance, in both its destructive and creative forms, has always been the price of vitality.”
The sexual revolution disrupted something fundamental. Sex, it turns out, is far more important than we understood, and making it cheep unleashed a cascade of negative effects. Among the worst: men and women have now become unsympathetic and grotesque in each others’ eyes.
