Dear 2025 class - just because it’s 8/1 and the phone doesn’t ring doesn’t mean you give up. Recruiting is not what it used to be. Get in the weight room get stronger. Keep working on development. Your time will come. For those that do get the call, you don’t have to commit today
A prospect is no longer a prospect when they reach their ceiling.
At some point in your career, the switch flips from PROJECTION to PRODUCTION.
You go your entire childhood and teenage years being told how much potential you have. And how projectable you are.
And all of the sudden…your 60 time is irrelevant and your stolen base numbers better be good. And your exit velocities are irrelevant and you better put up power numbers. And your arm velocities are irrelevant and you better throw strikes.
At some point, people need to stop talking about your potential. And they should just flat out say, “That guy is a good player.”
At the colt world series in Illinois
Fastball was 83-85 T86
Curveball was 68-69
I threw 5 1/3 innings with 97 pitches, over 64% strikes

Ty Butler (‘25 PA) looked excellent in 2 innings. FB sat 83-85 T87 w/ride, mixed in a mid-high 60s breaker. Tall-and-fall motion with clean actions on the mound. Dominates the strike zone w/ease. #KnoxInvite@PGMidAtlantic@midwest_max@JGatesPG

Ryan Piekutoski (‘25 PA) is swinging a hot bat going 7 for 8 so far this tournament with 10 RBI’s. Has had great timing with his leg lift and been able to adjust to off speed to go with the pitch the opposite way. #OVWS
Carter Wilson (‘25 PA) is seeing the ball well with his second double of the game. At 6’4 he uses his long arms to get fully extended to spray the ball into the gaps.#OVWS
