Frederick Jones held 60+ patents, revolutionized refrigeration, and built the technology that keeps your food fresh, your medicine safe, and your blood supply cold.

He did all of this in an era that tried to keep him out of every room he walked into.

In 1991, President Bush awarded him the National Medal of Technology - the first Black inventor to ever receive it.

So the next time you feel that cold air hit -

Remember who helped build that.
