Honestly? I woke up today feeling grateful.

Not because everything is perfect. But because of what didn’t happen.

With the war in the Middle East pushing oil prices up, things are getting harder everywhere.

Our neighbours are under real pressure. Philippines. Thailand. Cambodia. Laos.

Even Australia is facing a fuel crisis right now.

These are not just statistics.

These are real people, families trying to get to work, small business owners watching their costs double overnight, ordinary folks doing their best in a situation they didn’t create.

If you’re reading this, hang in there.

But yesterday, our PM announced that our subsidised petrol at RM1.99 stays.

Yes, the quota drops from 300L to 200L in April.

And I keep thinking, this kind of stability doesn’t just happen.

It took decades. Generations of leaders building diplomatic relationships quietly in the background.

Policy makers running the numbers at midnight.

Civil servants holding things together without anyone knowing their name.

People who never made the news but made the difference.

This moment of relative calm, they built it. Long before this crisis ever came.

But it also took something very Malaysian.

9. No further expansion of enrichment capabilities.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri Dua merangkap Menteri Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof memaklumkan Malaysia mengambil beberapa langkah untuk hadapi Krisis Tenaga di Timur Tengah

Pertama. Mengikuti Perancangan Kecemasan oleh Petronas jika Selat Hormuz terus ditutup berpanjangan. Setakat ini semua perancangan masih berjalan lancar dan bekalan tenaga Malaysia masih stabil dan terkawal

Langkah kedua ialah mempertimbangkan pembelian tenaga dan bekalan minyak dari negara lain seperti Australia dan negara negara di Asia Pasifik

Langkah Ketiga. Semua pejabat kerajaan diarahkan membuka penyaman udara pada Suhu 24 Darjah Celsius untuk menjimatkan elektrik

Langkah Empat. Memantau harga minyak dunia Brent dan mengambil apa apa tindakan yang perlu

Langkah Kelima. Mengekalkan Subsidi RON 95 dan Diesel untuk lindungi kos sara hidup rakyat. Kos ditanggung ialah sekitar RM 7.8 Bilion sebulan

Langkah Enam. Memastikan Sektor Logistik mendapat subsidi untuk elakkan kesan kenaikan harga pada rantaian bekalan mana mana barangan keperluan rakyat

Langkah Tujuh. Pasukan Keselamatan Malaysia akan mempertingkatkan penguatkuasaan di sempadan negara supaya penyeludupan dapat dikurangkan dan bekalan minyak cukup untuk kegunaan rakyat
