My project was in collaboration with @kewgardens @KewScience and modelled the potentially suitable habitat of Pinanga spp. (a genus of tropical forest understorey palm) across Borneo.

@Sunkensie @TheLabAndField Apartment hunting and getting registered at your local Bรผrgeramt are the biggest two things for the beginning, I would think. Come prepared to the apartment hunts with contract, pay slips, etc. Maybe get a German native to help you with the Bรผrgeramt - they can be a pain in the
@Sunkensie @TheLabAndField Lastly, learning German will help A LOT if you want to meet Germans. We might come across as standoffish and very reserved, takes a while for us to warm up to strangers. But once you do make a connection, Germans tend to be honest very loyal and you will have a lifelong friend.
@GilleighD@Sunkensie Oh my god, yes. As a German who moved to the UK I had to tone down my habit of looking at people and looking into the eye of strangers a lot! Sorry for all, that I freaked out...
