Trump says Democrats forgot to rig the election in 2016, successfully rigged it while *he* was president in 2020, then forgot how to rig it again in 2024. So the only election Democrats supposedly stole was the one he himself controlled.
You have to be a special kind of stupid to believe this bullshit.
Over the last few days, I’ve read hundreds of comments about Utah’s historic heat. Some have been thoughtful. Others… not so much.
Here are a few of the things people have been saying:
“It’s just summer in Utah.”
“We survived this without A/C years ago.”
“The media is creating hysteria.”
“The airport weather station moved, so the record doesn’t count.”
“109° isn’t that much hotter than 107°.”
“Meteorologists are being dramatic.”
Let’s clear a few things up.
Yes, it’s July. Yes, Utah gets hot. But that doesn’t make 109° normal.
Salt Lake City has kept weather records since 1874. In more than 150 years of observations, we had never reached 108°… until now. We didn’t just tie the old all-time record of 107°, we surpassed it by two degrees. At the extreme upper end of temperature records, that’s a significant margin.
I’ve also seen claims that the airport weather station somehow “created” this record. The reality is that observing sites are maintained under strict standards, and any changes are carefully documented by climate experts. If the National Weather Service and climate scientists determine a record is valid, it’s because the data has been thoroughly evaluated, not because someone wanted a headline.
Another common comment is, “People lived without air conditioning.”
Many still do. That’s exactly why extreme heat is so dangerous. Not everyone has reliable A/C, a safe place to cool down, or the ability to stay inside. Heat is consistently one of the deadliest weather hazards in the United States because it disproportionately affects older adults, young children, outdoor workers, people experiencing homelessness, and those with chronic health conditions.
Reporting on record-breaking weather isn’t fearmongering. It’s our job.
My goal has never been to scare people. It’s to explain what’s happening, why it matters, and how to stay safe. You don’t have to agree with every forecast or every headline, but facts are still facts.
Weather isn’t political. It isn’t about opinions. The thermometer doesn’t care what any of us believe.
Stay cool, check on your neighbors, and be kind to one another. That’s far more productive than arguing with the thermometer. 🌡️🥵
Let me tell you what just got reported, because you will not believe it until you see it laid out.
The Trump administration cut a billion-dollar tungsten deal with Kazakhstan. Tungsten is the metal we need for missile warheads, fighter jets, and computer chips. Trump himself got on the phone to close it. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick worked it from the inside, sending letters, leaning on the Kazakh president, lining up as much as $1.6 billion in federal financing.
Within weeks of those negotiations, investors tied to a firm partly owned by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump took a 20% stake in an entity connected to the very same Kazakhstan project their father was negotiating. Around that same time, Cantor Fitzgerald, the firm run by Lutnick’s own sons, raised $210 million for a partner in the deal and pocketed the fees.
The fathers set the policy. The sons cashed in.
Six days after the Trump sons and their partners moved their money, Lutnick signed the final deal.
The reporting found one or both families have financial ties to at least 14 companies working with the government on critical mining deals.
The total federal funding flowing toward those companies tops $8.9 billion.
This is your tax money.
It is supposed to secure our supply chains and protect our troops, not pad the portfolios of the President’s children and the Commerce Secretary’s children.
This is the most corrupt administration in American history. It is not close.
We must keep digging, and keep asking the questions they do not want asked. Republicans in Congress are unwilling to lift a finger. Mike Johnson is running a protection racket.
Either we will end the corruption, or the corruption will be the end of us.

I haven't gotten a clear answer on this yet: if Democrats cheat in every election, why do we have a Republican house, senate, and white house and SCOTUS?
A note to my friends who still back Trump:
I am not here to dunk on you. I am writing because you have a working brain, and this story insults it.
The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool got a $14 million paint job. Shortly thereafter the water turned green and the new “American flag blue” coating started peeling off the bottom in sheets. Trump says vandals did it. He claims, without evidence, that someone took a knife and cut a 300-foot slit, a number that grew to 350 feet while he was still talking.
Back on May 4, Trump bragged about that same coating and said, if you had a knife, you could not even cut it, so strong, like powerful rubber. He cannot have it both ways.
And the green water?
A George Mason scientist tested it and found ordinary, non-toxic algae, the kind that blooms in any shallow sunny pool. To fight it, crews dumped hydrogen peroxide into the water.
Hydrogen peroxide is also a paint stripper.
That, not sabotage or vandalism, is the obvious reason the paint came off. They wrecked their own paint job, then blamed phantom vandals for it.
The lone "vandal" they paraded is a 67-year-old Olympian who touched a flap of paint already peeling on its own.
Here is the thing. If they will look you in the eye and lie about something this small, something you can see with your own eyes, ask yourself what else they are lying to you about.
Again, you have a working brain. People like Karoline Leavitt are counting on you to stay loyal instead of exercising independent thought.
Prove them wrong.
Stephen Miller wants to flip a switch and erase one of your oldest rights.
It’s called habeas corpus.
Fancy words but a simple idea that the government can’t just grab you and lock you away. It has to prove to a judge why you’re behind bars. That right is 800 years old.
It’s older than America itself.
And Miller tried to kill it.
New reporting confirms it. Inside the White House, Miller pushed to suspend habeas corpus so agents could seize people, detain them, and deport them with no judge, no hearing, no chance to say “you’ve got the wrong guy.”
Even Trump’s own lawyers put in writing that this is illegal. Miller pushed anyway.
Miller screams “invasion” because the Constitution only allows this sort of thing during an invasion. But this same crowd brags every day that border crossings hit record lows. So which is it?
The right to challenge your own detention is the line between a republic and a regime. Lose it, and the government can disappear anyone.
I will fight this with everything I have.
The Constitution is not optional.
Not for Stephen Miller. Not for anyone.

How the fuck do we have $300 billion to rebuild Iran after we spent $80 billion bombing it, when we don’t “have the money” for pediatric cancer research?
@gopTODD@CcThayn Btw - the people I’m talking about are also registered Rs. The type you might assume are on your side if you believe in stereotype politics… but everyone is so damn sick of mental gymnastics. At this point we don’t just want a map. We want ranked choice voting.
@gopTODD@CcThayn Todd I registered as an R a long time ago. They’re not reliably getting my vote after the last decade of incompetence - and I’m not the only one. I know plenty of people who feel the same and who want independent maps. Don’t lie to yourself.
People routinely underestimate the likelihood that an apparatus of the state deployed ostensibly for the purpose of going after alleged terrorists and criminals will become a normal tool to be used against law-abiding citizens, including them and their family.
One week after Trump pardoned Binance’s owner (for a stunning array of crimes related to terrorist and sex predator financing), Binance starts promoting Trump crypto.
The White House is a full time, 24/7 corruption machine.
So young girls are adult enough to carry babies full term against their wishes but these people in their 30s that spewed racist shit are kids? This math is wild.
Most Republicans are good people. Most Democrats are good people.
The White House says outrageous things to make you hate your neighbor.
Your neighbor isn’t the problem. The White House is.
I co-wrote Trump’s first anti-terrorism plan in 2017-18. He’s not trying to stop “left-wing” terrorism. He is staging it.
His troop deployments are a false flag — meant to provoke a response in order to justify harsh crackdowns.
This is now very obvious.
The suspension of @jimmykimmel and the promise to silence other Late Night hosts for criticizing the administration should disturb everyone on the Right, Left, and Center. It’s wrong and anyone with a conscience knows it’s wrong.
