Today we held a Gypsy/Traveller Local Leaders network event for elected members. The morning was chair by @CllrChalmersSNP with input from partners at @ScotGovFairer, @MECOPP1 and @mobileandlearn.

COSLA have launched a new budget campaign: Invest Locally In Scotland's Future.

The campaign asks Scottish Government to help councils tackle issues locally with fair and flexible funding.

This was the first learning event we hosted to include all areas of humanitarian protection and around 70 local authority officers from across Scotland attended, sharing valuable insights on their work supporting refugees and people seeking asylum.

Yesterday we held an in-person Humanitarian Protection Schemes event for local authority officers working on resettlement, asylum, unaccompanied asylum seeking children, Ukraine, Hong Kong (BNO) and ESOL.

The day was centred around learning and sharing of best practice and involved presentations for local authorities on partnership and collaboration and building inclusive, intercultural communities as well as a panel discussion on integration from the day of arrival.

We had a great day in Leeds last week for the quarterly Hong Kong BN(O) Leads meeting to bring together learning and policy updates. We also heard from Hong Kong-led groups and about @MigrationYorks' Lived Experience panel.

This week, COSLA welcomed local authority, third sector and Scottish government colleagues to Verity House for a No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) Scotland Network event. The meeting featured a panel of speakers from @justrightscot, @scotrefcouncil and @IOM_UK.

Speakers reflected on pressures facing local government and the importance of partnership working. Local authorities participated in a series of workshops centred around the Ending Destitution Together strategy and shared examples of good practice.
