Pics from Pea Island this morning. The road is currently covered in 4' of water in some areas, as well as deep sand. At this point, it is impossible to assess the extent of any road damage, but once we do, we will have a better idea of repair/reopening options.

First light Friday morning shows the extent of the damage to NC Hwy 12 at the Outer Banks from this morning's high tide.

Sand and water completely cover the road just south of the Basnight Bridge on Pea Island.

There's currently no way out for Hatteras/Buxton/Ocracoke.
