🚨 ATTENTION: AMHARA ETHIOPIA & FRIENDS
Do not let a constant stream of distractions make us lose sight of the bigger danger.
As Ethiopia moves toward another potentially devastating phase of conflict, we need to pay attention not only to what is happening on the battlefield, but also to the conditions being created around civilians.
There are serious reports and allegations that require urgent attention 🚨
1. CASH & BANKING
Reports that large amounts of cash are being withdrawn by the regime from banks in the Amhara region raise serious concerns about liquidity and access to basic necessities.
If cash becomes unavailable, ordinary people will suffer first. Farmers, families, small businesses, workers and people trying to purchase food and medicine could be left without a functioning means of payment.
2. THE DANGER OF CIVILIAN ARMING
Reports that Oromo civilians are being encouraged or organized to arm themselves could dramatically increase the risk of targeted attacks on non Oromos living in Oromia region of Ethiopia.
Oromo civilians are already armed as attacks on non Oromos continue. If this escalates, the consequences could be catastrophic.
If civilians are turned against other civilians, the consequences could extend far beyond the current war. Ethiopia could face a cycle of retaliation, mass displacement and communal violence that becomes extremely difficult to stop.
This is why any credible evidence of organized civilian arming must be investigated immediately.
3. INTERNET & COMMUNICATIONS
There are also reports of a possible communications SHUTDOWN.
This would be extremely dangerous.
A communications blackout during escalating conflict can prevent families from contacting one another, restrict humanitarian organizations from assessing needs, obstruct independent monitors and make it far harder for the outside world to know what is happening.
Ethiopia ONLY had approximately 21 million internet users. The vast majority of the population remained offline.
That makes reliable communication even more important not less.
4. DRONE ATTACKS & CHILDREN
Reports of continuing drone strikes in Amhara region, includes civilian locations demand urgent investigation.
When schools are destroyed or children are forced out of classrooms because of conflict the damage does not end when the fighting stops. It can affect an entire generation.
WHY SHOULD THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY CARE?
If this escalates, the consequences could spread far beyond Ethiopia and destabilize the entire region.
A wider escalation could produce:
• mass civilian casualties
• displacement on a massive scale
• food and medicine shortages
• interruption of banking and communications
• attacks against civilians based on identity
• increased refugee and migration flows
• destruction of schools and essential infrastructure
• an information vacuum during a period of violence
The international community should not wait for the internet to go dark, banks to stop functioning or mass displacement to begin before paying attention.
We are asking for independent monitoring, humanitarian access, protection of civilians, protection of schools, preservation of communications, and investigation of credible reports of attacks and organized violence.
Do not let one headline replace another.
Do not let manufactured distractions make us lose sight of the bigger picture.
Watch the money. Watch the weapons. Watch the communications. Watch the attacks on civilians.
The danger is not only what happens during the war. The danger is what happens when civilians are deliberately left without safety, money, communication, education and reliable information.
The international community must pay attention before the humanitarian catastrophe becomes impossible to contain.
Pray for the #Amhara people in #Ethiopia.

ETHIOPIA ― Questions about Abiy Ahmed's credibility are not new. His educational background has faced persistent scrutiny because publicly verifiable records have been difficult to establish.
His media appearances tell a similar story. His limited ability to communicate spontaneously in English seems to make "unscripted" interviews a particularly risky exercise.
Apparently, the safest interview for Abiy Ahmed is one where the questions are known beforehand, the answers are carefully rehearsed, and spontaneous, open-ended questioning is kept safely out of the equation.
After his previous staged appearance was engulfed in plagiarism-related controversy, he seems to have developed a remarkable allergy to mainstream, unscripted interviews. He has avoided them ever since, and judging by his track record, spontaneous questioning may remain permanently off the menu.
Call it whatever you want, but "credibility" certainly isn't his cup of tea.
Undying Love Until the Very Last Minute
Look at her arm. Even in death, it is around her child.
She was a farmer. She was a mother. She had no politics, no ideology, no part in whatever grievance was used to justify what was done to her and to the little one she was still holding when they found them. She was simply a woman who loved her child the way every mother loves her child, completely, instinctively, until the last breath.
Their greatest crime: Being An #Amhara
This image was taken in #Wollega. While it was happening, while communities like hers were being systematically massacred by forces armed with the supremacist ideology of #Oromumma, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was giving a celebrated interview to the New Yorker. Two realities, existing simultaneously. Only one of them was being covered.
Every one of us came into the world held by arms like hers. Every human being alive knows what a mother's protection means, regardless of ethnicity, language, or faith. That is why this image is not only an Amhara tragedy. It is a human indictment.
Her name is not recorded here. It should be.

The little girl was found after spending four days without food or water, sleeping beside her mother’s remains while suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg. Her mother was killed by Oromia Region Geda Commando forces and ENDF soldiers in Anderoricho Kebele, Gida Ayana Woreda, East Wollega Zone, Oromia Region, Ethiopia, on August 21st, 2026, amid an ongoing @AbiyAhmedAli regime massacre that has killed over 100 Amhara civilians and displaced thousands.
🚨BREAKING: Another Islamist Massacre of Christians in Ethiopia. At least 50 Christians were slaughtered in a horrific Islamist attack in Ethiopia.
This is yet another targeted massacre of believers, but the mainstream media and global elites remain mostly silent.
Where is the outrage? Christians are under siege worldwide.
🚨 Lemkin Institute issues Active Genocide Alert for Ethiopia - Update 2 (May 15, 2026)
The Amhara people continue to face a systematic genocidal campaign: mass killings, sexual violence (including against children), drone strikes on civilians, forced displacements, destruction of schools & hospitals, blackouts, and ethnic persecution by government forces.
Tens of thousands dead since 2023. The institute demands: immediate ceasefire, independent investigation, ICC probe, and international pressure on PM Abiy Ahmed’s regime. #AmharaGenocide
